Robin Williams was sober for 20 years... then one thought in a small Alaskan town undid it all. In this interview, the comedian traces the full arc of his history with addiction: how it started, how he quit the first time, why he relapsed after two decades, and what finally broke the grip for good. It began early in his career, with cocaine. People asked why a man that fast ever needed it. His answer flips the assumption on its head: "I think I did it because it would actually allow me not to talk. It was like, you know, reverse medication... It just kind of shuts you down, which is a, you know, word: self-medication." The first turning point came in the early 1980s. Two things changed his thinking: the death of his friend John Belushi from an overdose, and the news that he was about to become a father. "I remember stopping it on my own because I was about to have a son... You don't want to be like that." Surrounded by doctors and psychiatrists in treatment, he noticed a pattern: "The more intelligent you think you are, the harder it is to let go. Please share this far and wide. It’s an important story that needs to be heard. To me, this is the most important post I’ve made on this platform. I need to address this head-on, because the truth matters, and I refuse to let baseless accusations silence me. Diligent Denizen 🇺🇸 has said I am running the fed network and mutiny against him because I am a VETERAN. That’s not just wrong, it’s hurtful and dangerous. I’m no federal agent. I’m a retired military veteran, 100% disabled, who served my country with honor. Until now, I haven’t shared this publicly here, but I care about Epstein because I was sexually assaulted by my own commander. My story is why I fight against men like Diligent who are in it for the clicks. He has made baseless claims against a woman who was reporting on Epstein and also happened to be one of his greatest supporters. Getting justice in the military especially for sexual assault can be rare. Very few succeed in filing a complaint that leads to justice. People who know my story often ask how I did it because my Commander was removed from his position. I give them partial answers, but the full truth is darker: I had to omit the worst part, the assault itself. It’s like the Epstein cases we see now, where powerful people face charges for everything but the core abuse. My commander wasn’t removed for the assault, but for loss of confidence and conduct unbecoming an officer and gentleman. Neither of us pushed for people to leave his community or unsubscribe. This is peak paranoia without any receipts except someone told him. Diligent’s paranoia hits a new low, claiming my passion for protecting women makes me a CIA operative. That’s narcissism at its peak, twisting advocacy into conspiracy. I don't watch or think or write through the lens of Alya vs Cihan. Both characters are dear to me. And, if that's the way you roll, by all means, proceed. Analyzing Episode 36. Season 2 aka Of Strengths, Weaknesses, and The Last Nail in the Coffin Evvveeettt. Another episode, another meltdown. Just another day in the CihAl fandom. Ngl, it took me two days to even think about writing my regular analysis post, because the negativity was more potent than usual. Or maybe my resistance is waning, who knows? But that's not what we're gonna focus on today. This day, we analyze the words and actions of the heart and soul of Uzak Sehir, aka Alya and Cihan Albora. But we'll do so within the framework of strengths and weaknesses, because to me, that's what really comes to the fore in ep36. Alya Albora Alya Albora was especially heartbreaking this episode. And coming from someone who gets their heartbroken regularly because of Alya, that's saying something. The episode starts with the zombie-man opening his eyes (I think this PoS is just lying there pretending to be a vegetable, but that's for another time). And the look Alya has on her face when she looks at Cihan is indescribable. Almost as if everything inside her is pleading, 'Please don't regress back to where we just came from.' Because she fears, even as she tries to check on the zombie, that the closer Frankenboran gets to waking up, the further Cihan will drift from her. And, to an extent, her fears are proven right when Sadakat brings up divorce again. See, Alya doesn't come from strong family roots. She believes her biological mother abandoned her for most of her adult life. Then she has Caroline, who tries to fill all the empty spaces abandonment leaves in little Alya, but doesn't manage to succeed too much. As I've said before, Alya's primary fears stem from being abandoned and being a burden. That's what she tries to protect herself from. Those walls around her heart are in place to keep her from suffering that same pain again. That's both her strength and her weakness. While the fear pushes Alya to love harder, to push past difficulties, to rise from the ashes over and over, it also makes her more aloof. She doesn't find it as difficult as Cihan to leave behind 'family' ties because she's never experienced just how forceful those bonds can be. When it falls to her to choose between her love for Cihan and whatever she had with Boran, she picks the former without much guilt. But there's another factor that helps keep her from feeling much remorse for Boran, and that's the way her former husband treats her. Before Alya finds out about the will, her anger at Cihan is at an all-time high, and there's no question of any relationship developing between the two. After the will, however, that's a different story. So, when it falls to her to choose, she can do so easily, with her conscience at rest. And we see that so clearly in the way she announces she won't return to Boran even when he wakes up. Now, let's focus on the tricky bit. The weaknesses. Because Alya fears being a burden, being imposed on someone, adding to their strain, anything other than clarity can't help but raise doubts. When Cihan doesn't answer her question of 'Where will you stand?' with a clear with you or with you, distrust raises its ugly head. She starts asking herself if their relationship is what Cihan really wants now that Boran is back in the picture. She starts wondering whether Cihan will be able to shoulder the burden their relationship will add to his already weighed-down shoulders. It's harrowing to watch her be drawn to Cihan one instant, and pull back the next. Not because she doesn't love him, but because she can't bear to be another weight on Cihan's existence. That's what we see when she's shivering with fever. She wants him close, but she also doesn't want him to suffer. She keeps asking Cihan to leave, but he refuses to budge. And, that cures and hurts at the same time. For some reason, when she says, 'I'm also trying to find a way,' I couldn't help but feel that a part of her is already reverting back to the old Alya. The longer Cihan refrains from giving Alya a clear answer, the more her doubts grow. The more their 'impossibility' takes over her love. The closer she grows to wanting to leave. This time, if she attempts to leave, it won't be because her feelings overwhelm her. It'll be because she can't bear to see Cihan hurt anymore. Cihan Albora Oh boy. I can already hear the jeers of 'coward' and 'gavat' (which, by the way, I find to be a really ugly word) ringing in my ears. Well, fcuk that. Let's get back to our analysis. I talked about how Cihan seems to be stuck between suppression and surrender when it comes to his guilt. And, I did think that almost losing Alya would break that spell. But, clearly, that's not the road that Gulizar wants to take. Perhaps she does want it to come down to conflict. I'm not sure yet. What I am sure of is that Cihan is already aware of what he wants. And it's not wanting to be BFFs with Boran at the expense of Alya, guilt be damned. You can see it in the way his answers get bolder every time Sadakat asks him about a divorce. This episode is the first time Cihan states outright that the burden of 'conscience' isn't his to bear because he merely did what Boran asked of him. In other words, he didn't plan on falling in love with Alya, but it happened, and if there's any blame in that, it's not on him or Alya. Here's what irks most people. He doesn't ever talk about what he wants. It's always 'What if Boran wants this' or 'What if Boran wants that.' In other words, it's a form of misdirection on his part. He knows what's in his heart, but he doesn't want to say it out loud. Another scene where you can clearly see what his choice will be is when he's taking care of Alya during her fever. The more Alya insists that he leave, the more he digs in his heels. Until finally, he says, 'I won't allow anyone to hurt you, I won't allow anyone to harm you, and that's how it will be until I draw my last breath.' People don't say things like. 'That's how it'll be as long as I live,' if they're not sure about what they want. This is Cihan's strength. His love, protective instincts, and his code of sticking up for the people he loves. Unfortunately, like Alya, that's also his weakness. Cihan's been trained to fight for his family and his people to his very last. And, that's one HUGE reason why he can't verbalize what's already screaming inside his mind and his heart. We know he can't live without Alya, he says as much in the last episode. He keeps buying time because he knows once he states those words - there's no turning back. And he knows exactly how ugly things could go because dealing with ugly has been his entire existence. People won't be kind to him or Alya in the place where they live (think back to how Demir sends his goons to insult Alya's mom). And besides all that, what if Boran doesn't want to let go? That's when shit will truly hit the fan, because once Cihan says he's with Alya, he'll be fighting his brother, standing up to his mother, breaking his family apart, endangering Albora with internal strife, and worst of all, risking Alya and Deniz's safety. And remember, unlike Alya, who can control her conscience because of an extenuating factor, Cihan has no such relief. So, what you see is a man trying to survive an impending hurricane in a straw hut. He knows when that storm hits, and it will, things will go to hell. Besides all that, there is his stupid conscience that just won't shut the hell up because of that code of his. To me, that's not cowardice. That's a man standing at the edge of a life-changing truth, and being undone by the gravity of it. It's almost as if his soul is negotiating with reality, hoping to avoid collateral damage, while grieving for the version of himself he knows won't survive after he states his truth. As we can see in the scene where he and Alya are saying goodbye, they're already a family. His heart has already made the choice, so much so that in that scene, even Sadakat and Nare see the invisible bonds tying Cihan to Alya and vice versa. It's not a question of if, merely when. The Last Nail in the Coffin The question on everyone's mind is, what will it be? The last nail in the coffin of Cihan and Boran's brotherhood. The point of no return. To me, the way things are shaping up, there will be a clash. Will the showdown happen when Boran wakes up, or will Cihan learn the truth about his brother and finally be set free? I don't know. I've always had the inkling that Boran isn't what he claims to be. I guess we'll find out soon. But until then, I'll be watching. Gladly. For both my babies. Alrighty. I don't know about you, but this scene was one of my favorites from ep 23. But, it's been overlooked. It's a heart-to-heart between cihan and fiko. And, it adds fiko among the people who truly know what cihan feels for alya. I love the fact that fiko starts the conversation with 'will you always live like this?' Because that's what the viewers have been thinking since alya and cihan got married. Sure, it's a marriage of convenience of sorts, but any blind person can tell you they love each other. But, cihan is holding back because of boran and maybe in some small part due to his promise to alya. However, to fiko, it seems ridiculous because she can see that the whole arrangement is already tearing at the seams. When fiko makes it obvious there's no point in hiding things from her, because she sees the two of them too clearly, cihan tells her about his agreement with alya. Then comes my favorite part. Fiko says 'don't let go of my daughter's hand, not now or in the future.' That's her way of saying, make it real, make this marriage real. Live what you two feel for each other. And, there's no judgment in her tone or words. Then she makes cihan promise (he agrees all too readily) that how he knows alya and the place she occupies in his heart will never change even by a milimeter in the future. That's her way of telling him, I know you love her. And, his silence is agreement. For those of us forever wondering what cihan feels for alya, here's your answer. He never objects or says he doesn't love her when sado, nare, or fiko confront him with his feelings. And, then fiko tells him to trust his feelings. HOW GOOD WAS IT TO HEAR THAT? Because all he hears from his witch of a mother is he can't have feelings for alya because of boran. But, here's another mother telling him, it's okay to feel what you feel. Trust your love for alya, let it guide you. Then she tells him to trust alya always, no matter what. Why? Because trust and respect are the foundations of love. I love this woman. I do. I hope fiko becomes a permanent fixture in this series. She then rounds of the conversation by repeating 'don't let go of her hand, stand with her always.' Aka, always love alya, always support her, be the shelter she's always wanted but never found. When cihan inquires why she's suddenly talking so openly, she answers life is uncertain. And, like any good mother, she wants to ensure her daughter is in good hands before it's her time to go. She says she wants to entrust her pure-hearted daughter to him and how does ciho respond? He says 'let there be no doubt in your mind.' That's not just taking up a promise. That's a declaration of intent. That's him saying, I'll look after the bird in my hands all my life. Because he loves her too, just like the woman sitting in front of him. This scene was such a sincere exchange of feelings. Both ciho and fiko are conversing without any diversion, without any artifice. It brings the both of them peace, in different ways. It assures fiko that her daughter will be happy with this man. And it assures cihan that his feelings aren't some kind of sin. He loves alya, and it's okay to act on that love. Brilliant, brilliant scene. Brilliant acting. Robin Williams on the moment he relapsed after 20 years sober: The legendary comedian sat down for an interview and opened up about his decades-long battle with alcohol and cocaine, including the moment he broke a 20-year stretch of sobriety in 2010. When asked why he fell off, Robin describes a strange, almost out-of-body moment in a remote town: "I was in a little town in Alaska. It wasn't the end of the world, but you can see it from there. And it was like all of a sudden I thought I could drink. It's also that same thought you have if you look off a large building and go, 'I can fly.' And within a week it was like, gone, you know? And now, you know, I realize I can't. So that was the gift." Robin's history with substances went back decades. When asked if he could remember falling into the trap of cocaine and alcohol in the first place, his answer was striking: "I don't vividly remember anything from... it's like there is this thing for alcoholics called a blackout, which isn't really a blackout; it's more like sleepwalking with activities." He describes the blackout with his signature dark humour: "I believe it's your conscience going into a witness protection program going, 'You're about to have sex with a hobbit. I've got to go now. Good luck. I'm checking out. I'm leaving the body on, but we're not going to remember anything. Good luck to you, take care.'" What's remarkable is that Robin originally quit cocaine on his own, without any help, for a reason that had nothing to do with himself: "I remember stopping it on my own because I was about to have a son and I didn't want to be coked up going, 'Hey, dad loves you, here's a little switch, I'm going to throw up on you.' You don't want to be like that." The death of his close friend John Belushi from an overdose shook him, but Robin says fatherhood was the real turning point: "Totally. And that, but more importantly my son. I think that was the beginning of kind of, you know, thinking outside the box of, 'You've got a responsibility and it's more than you.'" When asked why he ever needed cocaine in the first place, given his already legendary speed and energy, Robin offered a surprising explanation: "I think I did it because it would actually allow me not to talk. It was like, you know, reverse medication. I want to give Ritalin to hyperactive children. It's that idea of kind of, 'Oh, okay, I don't have to talk to people.' It just kind of shuts you down, which is a, you know, word: self-medication." After his relapse in Alaska, breaking the grip the second time around required something he hadn't needed the first time: surrender. "Not hard once you go to rehab… the idea is you gotta surrender. You gotta just say, 'I can't do it.' Because, you know, I went to rehab with a lot of doctors and psychiatrists, and the more intelligent you think you are, the harder it is to let go." Robin captures the trap of intelligence perfectly: "Everything: 'I've got a solution, I'll just drink a little bit.' It's like saying, 'I'll just partially circumcise myself, I'll be fine.' And then you have to go, 'Nope, you lose. You can't do it. You need help.' And at that point, that's the beginning." Even after 20 years of sobriety, one quiet thought in a remote town was enough to undo it all. And the way back wasn't through willpower or intellect, but through admitting he couldn't do it alone.

Jaekyung's character is literally defined by being terrible at communicating. The guy doesn't know how to express himself, and he gets frustrated when he has to. Dr Jim Chalmers PhD is a smartarse. He let fly on Sussan Ley today, and for the first time since Albanese became leader of the Labor Party, they are worried. They are not afraid of Ley. They are trying to shame her into stepping back into the Net Zero love in. The place where all the establishment elite hang out, eat fine food and slap each other on the back with their gym towels. Ley will be susceptible to this, because deep down she has a strong conviction, an unwavering belief in serving the establishment power and finding the path of least resistance. (The coalition needs a new leader and a new front bench.) But the absolute tantrum being thrown around the Australian institutions right now, can be heard from New Zealand. It shows the coalition are indeed over the target, and that with Australia first policies built on good principles, they can win. All the Labor and Green sympathisers in the media, the pollsters, the academics, the commentariat and the politicians themselves are desperately trying to convince the coalition that they will not win ever again if they change course on Net Zero, climate action and a raft of other things. I am not sure if they are just not that bright, or if they just think we are stupid, but I can’t understand why all these people are so worried about the fortunes of their political opposition. An opposition they really can’t stand. I think it is more likely they are scared that without the coalition pretending along with them on the made-up issues like the desperate need for Net Zero, they will have to tackle some of our real-world problems. Oh… and the big, gigantic taxpayer funded money-go-round will stop. Which means they will have to get real jobs… “yuck”. When Jim Chalmers, called anyone who doesn’t think Net Zero is a good idea “cookers” and “crackpots”, it seemed to me he thinks that the massive opposition to what is now obviously failed policy, is just a fringe group. We have watched the aftermath of the closing of one coal-fired power station after another, being replaced with finicky, intermittent and ill fit ‘renewable’ solutions. It is in every power bill and plastered on the exit door of every major manufacturing-based business closure. It is in the cost of everything we have and do. But the game is over. The world is moving on from Net Zero. We are not even that worried about the clearly overstated climate problem so much anymore. Because they cried wolf, time after time, they bashed us over the head from their private jets champagne in hand, as they called us names. We disgust them. It is clear the Labor/Green arguments on climate have been overstated. The solutions ill thought through and undercooked. The only real winners have been the billionaires, lobbyists and ex-politicians who seem to have extracted more welfare from the Australian public than the NDIS and Centrelink combined, as they are paid to provide infrastructure that does not work. Only to shelve it and ask for another hand-out for the next one. Which they get. The problem is that intermittent energy generation like solar and wind is unstable - by design - and battery technology is far from where it would need to be to stabilise it. Electricity provision is a delicate balance of supply and demand, and random, unpredictable power generation is counterproductive. Too much electricity is as bad as not enough. Simple, predictable and reliable energy sources will always be cheaper. Energy sources that are not reliant on the unpredictable weather, or transient cloud free daylight. the "transition" was always a terrible plan and doomed to fail. That's before you even get to the disastrous execution. The elites really do take us for fools; it's not like any of this was an unknown to them at any point. Meanwhile average household incomes are being beaten into insignificance by inflation, driven by an energy system that has become more complex, and unstable than a Swiss watch balanced on the mast of a yacht, sailing the Sydney to Hobart. Chalmers has never had a real job, but he calls us names. Us... we the people who pay his salary. After the mess he and his mates have caused, he has no right to call us names. I used to be an atheist who practiced witchcraft before I turned to Christ. The one question that led to it was: "If God is all loving, why do we need to follow a set of rules to not be condemned to eternal death?" I was convinced God was selfish and narcissistic "worship me or you go to hell". I explored atheism, paganism, buddhism, satanism and shintoism. Shintoism and buddhism have very peaceful teachings, they focus mainly on revering nature and bringing goodness to the world. Paganism focuses on nature too, but they practice rituals/traditions and seek spiritual guidance. Meanwhile satanism is the polar opposite of christianity, focusing on flesh over spirit. So what is christianity then? 💠 Here is what convinced me: - God created a set of laws for humanity to live by to align with his holiness and maintain order, such as the law of nature/asking/prosperity etc - The consequence of falling outside of the law is life without God; and hell is a physical manifestation of the absence of God, basically non-creation or void - You can't be neutral, the moment you give your life to Christ, your name is written in the book of life and you become a citizen of heaven. If you're not on that list, there's only one other place left; that's why you can't be neutral with God Revelation 20:12: "And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books." ⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆ 💠Conclusion: - Christianity is about law and love - The reason why judgement is so often mentioned in the bible is because God wants us to follow the law, because not only: 1 - We were built to thrive when we follow the law as a way to live; 2 - Because of his love for us, He doesn't want us to experience life without him. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.") - The other reason is the paradox of the nonbeliever— if anything from God happens, you'll continue passing it off as coincidence; you need to start with a specific motivation and drive to find God before he starts working in your life in order to be open and receptive to his presence, otherwise you'll keep passing off your encounters as coincidences. - The only way to understand God is by reading the bible, intermediary content from other christians on the internet (such as this post) isn't enough! 💙 So lock in!! ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´- ⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆ 💠 At the end of the day, christianity is a religion built on love and justice. So if there's a God out there who actively wants the best for me, and already blessed me with so much, I'm more than willing to listen to what he asks of me; out of respect for everything he's done for me and my family. Galatians 5:24: "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires" Matthew 19:11: "Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. (...) The one who can accept this should accept it"." Everyone is free to come to God by their own choice, your duty as a christian is to have the answers ready if someone wants to come to Christ, not to force it on them. That is a perversion of the gospel from the evil one, it becomes incredibly counterproductive. Because instead of inspiring curiosity, you'd inspire disgust and exhaustion.
