This is the heartbreaking final voice message Callum Robinson sent to his girlfriend before he was killed. 33-year-old Callum Robinson, and his 30-year-old brother, Jake, were on a surfing trip in Mexico with their friend Jack Carter Rhoad when they disappeared on April 27, 2024. The remains of the three men were later discovered at the bottom of a well at the Airbnb where they had planned to stay. All three had been shot in the head. Jesus Gerardo Garcia Cota, Ari Gisel Garcia Cota and Christian Alejandro Garcia have been arrested and charged with kidnapping.

Yesterday ex-Bungie exec Martin O’Donnell who successfully sued #Bungie for unpaid wages and stock ownership, did an interview with Act Man about Bungie's recent woes. He implied Bungie CEO Pete Parsons and the #Microsoft corporate ethos and management style he comes from, was to blame. Martin also believes he may have been intentionally fired just weeks before his founders stock was due to be vested, so Bungie and its leadership could save money. There were similar staff retention and shares vestment schemes as part of #Sony's acquisition of Bungie, so both would have likely saved money in a similar way with recent layoffs. Martin expands on how Pete Parsons hasn't been at Bungie for decades, and was originally a Microsoft Marketing Executive who was brought in as Studio Manager for Bungie, but left during Bungie's negotiations for independence away from Microsoft. He was not involved in any of Halo 3's production. Unbeknownst to Martin, Pete didn't actually leave the company when he left, instead went back to an executive role at Microsoft. Pete Parsons was brought back in as Marketing Head in an exec role at Bungie around 2009. Over the coming years other executives got fired while Pete eventually went on to assume the top CEO role at Bungie in 2016, just before the release of Destiny 2. This father had never missed any of his son’s baseball games in his life. He had to miss this tournament because his best friend was getting married and he was a groomsman. He woke up at 3:30AM and drove 100 MPH that Sunday morning to try to and at least make the Sunday games after missing the Saturdays games. And, of course this was the only tournament all year that his son’s team lost their first game on Sunday, so he didn't make it in time because the first game was at 8 and there was no second game. When he pulled up his son saw him and he ran full speed and jumped into his arms and wouldn’t let go. Dad said his son told him, “daddy, you can’t ever miss again. I love you so much. Not having you with me this weekend made me feel so empty, please never miss again, I'm so thankful your my daddy!” 🥹 His wife filmed that video. ❤️ I remember those days well. Speeding like a bat out of hell to make it on time. I have always made my kid’s games and activities. It’s what I live for. And the few times I had to miss, I felt like I let them down. What a great father he is. That boy is fortunate. 💯 Do you remember this feeling? Trying your hardest to make it to one of their activities and just feeling sad that you couldn’t be there?

Courage doesn't mean you have no fear; it's about having fear but still moving forward despite it. That's the conclusion I came to. And this movie is about sharing that courage with all of you. Joel Embiid was unable to do on-court workouts ever since the 2024 Olympics until mid-December this season because he had to get his health right. Drew Hanlen: “He wasn't able to practice. And I remember at one point he was like, ‘hey, I know I'm not really supposed to, but we got to figure out my jump shot. My mid-range is off, which is never off. My 3 is off, which is never off.’ And so we did a workout, and we like grinded like old school Joel. Should not have probably done it, but we got back and he's like, ‘I feel like myself again.’ The next game he had 39, and since then he's averaging like 30. That's how good he is.“

🛢️⛔️🇨🇦🌊 : Before Justin Trudeau came to power, Enbridge spent $1 billion on a Northern Gateway pipeline proposal. 🛢️I put the proposed pipeline route from the Alberta oilsands to Kitimat, at the end of the video. 🦅Enbridge had an agreement with First Nation equity partners, who stood to gain $2 billion from the project. 🚫When Justin Trudeau came to power, the pipeline project was cancelled. 🤐This was done without consultation with First Nations or Enbridge, who lost bigtime on their investments. 💵So why would any private company want to waste vast sums of cash & time, only to be tossed out on a whim? 🏭Remember, we even had a proposal to build a refinery in Kitimat to help reduce the risks of a bitumen spill because we would be shipping very profitable refined products like jet fuel and gasoline. 💰The refinery proposal had loads of private investment ready to go. 👷It would have created thousands of excellent long term paying jobs for communities desperate for such lasting quality employment. That too was cancelled due to a complete lack of interest and even outright hostility from both the Federal & Provincial governments. We have lost tens of billions of dollars in economic growth for communities that desperately needed it.

My first project at Apple was the Cinema Display. It was a large desktop monitor. It had a beautiful clear plastic enclosure that was held together with some screws coming in from the back. These screws were made of stainless steel, and the head of every screw was machined to have a pattern of concentric grooves that shimmered like a CD when light moved across it. I should probably say, if some of you have never seen a CD before, you can ask your parents afterward. At some point in my first year, I found myself at a supplier facility. I was far away from home, it was well past midnight. I was using a magnifying glass to count the number of grooves on the head of this screw, which, remember, lives on the back of the display. And I was arguing with the supplier because these parts had 35 grooves, they were supposed to have 25. My first project at Apple was the Cinema Display. It was a large desktop monitor. It had a beautiful clear plastic enclosure that was held together with some screws coming in from the back. These screws were made of stainless steel, and the head of every screw was machined to have a pattern of concentric grooves that shimmered like a CD when light moved across it. I should probably say, if some of you have never seen a CD before, you can ask your parents afterward. At some point in my first year, I found myself at a supplier facility. I was far away from home, it was well past midnight. I was using a magnifying glass to count the number of grooves on the head of this screw, which, remember, lives on the back of the display. And I was arguing with the supplier because these parts had 35 grooves, they were supposed to have 25. I distinctly remember stepping back for a minute and thinking to myself, “What the hell am I doing? Is this normal?” And I thought about it, and I realized it might not be normal, but it’s right. It’s right because I’d already spent months working on that product, and if you’re going to spend that much time on something, you should put in your very best effort. Maybe a customer notices, maybe they don’t, but either way, whenever I saw one of those displays on someone’s desk, it mattered to me to know that my teammates and I had considered everything about it and done the very best job we could.” *** H/T to Kevin Gee for flagging this:
