This is the heartbreaking final voice message Callum Robinson sent to his girlfriend before he was killed. 33-year-old Callum Robinson, and his 30-year-old brother, Jake, were on a surfing trip in Mexico with their friend Jack Carter Rhoad when they disappeared on April 27, 2024. The remains of the three men were later discovered at the bottom of a well at the Airbnb where they had planned to stay. All three had been shot in the head. This father had never missed any of his son’s baseball games in his life. He had to miss this tournament because his best friend was getting married and he was a groomsman. He woke up at 3:30AM and drove 100 MPH that Sunday morning to try to and at least make the Sunday games after missing the Saturdays games. And, of course this was the only tournament all year that his son’s team lost their first game on Sunday, so he didn't make it in time because the first game was at 8 and there was no second game. When he pulled up his son saw him and he ran full speed and jumped into his arms and wouldn’t let go. Dad said his son told him, “daddy, you can’t ever miss again. I love you so much. Not having you with me this weekend made me feel so empty, please never miss again, I'm so thankful your my daddy!” 🥹 His wife filmed that video. ❤️ I remember those days well. Speeding like a bat out of hell to make it on time. I have always made my kid’s games and activities. It’s what I live for. And the few times I had to miss, I felt like I let them down. What a great father he is. That boy is fortunate. 💯 Do you remember this feeling? Trying your hardest to make it to one of their activities and just feeling sad that you couldn’t be there?

Yesterday ex-Bungie exec Martin O’Donnell who successfully sued #Bungie for unpaid wages and stock ownership, did an interview with Act Man about Bungie's recent woes. He implied Bungie CEO Pete Parsons and the #Microsoft corporate ethos and management style he comes from, was to blame. Martin also believes he may have been intentionally fired just weeks before his founders stock was due to be vested, so Bungie and its leadership could save money. There were similar staff retention and shares vestment schemes as part of #Sony's acquisition of Bungie, so both would have likely saved money in a similar way with recent layoffs. Martin expands on how Pete Parsons hasn't been at Bungie for decades, and was originally a Microsoft Marketing Executive who was brought in as Studio Manager for Bungie, but left during Bungie's negotiations for independence away from Microsoft. He was not involved in any of Halo 3's production. Unbeknownst to Martin, Pete didn't actually leave the company when he left, instead went back to an executive role at Microsoft. Pete Parsons was brought back in as Marketing Head in an exec role at Bungie around 2009. Over the coming years other executives got fired while Pete eventually went on to assume the top CEO role at Bungie in 2016, just before the release of Destiny 2. Courage doesn't mean you have no fear; it's about having fear but still moving forward despite it. That's the conclusion I came to. And this movie is about sharing that courage with all of you. Joel Embiid was unable to do on-court workouts ever since the 2024 Olympics until mid-December this season because he had to get his health right. Drew Hanlen: “He wasn't able to practice. And I remember at one point he was like, ‘hey, I know I'm not really supposed to, but we got to figure out my jump shot. My mid-range is off, which is never off. My 3 is off, which is never off.’ And so we did a workout, and we like grinded like old school Joel. Should not have probably done it, but we got back and he's like, ‘I feel like myself again.’ The next game he had 39, and since then he's averaging like 30. That's how good he is.“

He does version of Steve Jobs “paint both sides of the fence even if other people don’t know” attention-to-detail story…about screws for the Cinema Dislay monitor: “Here’s my first [advice]: the care that you put into your work really matters. My first project at Apple was the Cinema Display. It was a large desktop monitor. It had a beautiful clear plastic enclosure that was held together with some screws coming in from the back. These screws were made of stainless steel, and the head of every screw was machined to have a pattern of concentric grooves that shimmered like a CD when light moved across it. I should probably say, if some of you have never seen a CD before, you can ask your parents afterward. At some point in my first year, I found myself at a supplier facility. I was far away from home, it was well past midnight. I was using a magnifying glass to count the number of grooves on the head of this screw, which, remember, lives on the back of the display. And I was arguing with the supplier because these parts had 35 grooves, they were supposed to have 25. I distinctly remember stepping back for a minute and thinking to myself, “What the hell am I doing? Is this normal?” And I thought about it, and I realized it might not be normal, but it’s right. It’s right because I’d already spent months working on that product, and if you’re going to spend that much time on something, you should put in your very best effort. "I remember feeling very tired mentally, four days of sort of leading the tournament. I won the week before in Greensboro so I’d had a lot of media attention that week and so people forget that. You know to win two in a row is not always easy and then the Masters, I was late, day one, and there was no late and early times you get the first Tour. It was either if you score well the first round and you’re late, you’ll be late the second day so I was late the third day and then was obviously last off with Crenshaw. So mentally it was getting quite tiring because the course was very dry and it was just holding on because you had these four footers. You keep getting, keep making them and then you know, and then obviously I had a bit of a hiccup at 11th and 12th. Things didn’t go well there so now I was on the hunt to try and get that few shots back off Calcavecchia and it had come at holes that I thought wouldn’t happen. I thought 13th I can maybe get a birdie, and I had a good tee shot. I had 165 for my second shot, to give you some idea how good the tee shot was, and I still made par which was annoying. I made it close at 14th from about eight feet and I missed that for birdie, and I didn’t make birdie at 15th with a second shot just off the back of the green so I’m thinking you know, the chances are gone, a bit thin, and then you go and birdie 16th from above the hole which wasn’t quite, was on the gameplan but I’ll take it. And then the 18th, we all know that it was in the bunker and then got it out the bunker fairly successfully, and then – talking about the putts you have to hole to win, that was an eighteen, eighteen feet I think it was, the putt. Doesn’t look like it on TV, looks like about six feet and I got the memories of Trevino always saying if you’re going to have to win a tournament or a winning putt, he said I’d rather have a downhill putt than I would have a twenty foot putt uphill when you’ve actually physically got to hit it. So obviously I’m putting downhill all the way so to me, I’d had probably ten minutes to read the line. I don’t know if it was a good thing or a bad thing. You get too many ideas in your mind because Crenshaw was butchering the hole at the time and he was putting out and da da, so I was waiting for ages and that just took about a four inch back swing, if that, and just started the ball rolling and obviously we know it went in the can. I was saying to myself, thank **** I’m not going down the 10th on the play-off because I’d got no legs left."
