🚨URGENT: Record numbers of students are falling BELOW basic reading and math skill levels, with chronic absenteeism spiking over 20% among 4th, 8th, and 12th graders. How long will we ignore the crisis in Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs)? Taxpayer-funded Colleges of Education and alternative certification programs must be reformed. America’s schools are alienating children, leaving them feeling out of place, because the government-run education system has failed to prioritize the proper credentialing and practical training of teachers since at least 1993 ( Evidence-based instruction methods exist to ensure all students—including those with learning challenges like dyslexia—can read at grade-level proficiency by the end of third grade, yet these are not consistently implemented system-wide. What the Democrats and the educator unions have done to our children—the future of America—is reprehensible. Without President Trump winning the 2024 election, they were on the track to inheriting a deeply flawed and troubling legacy of soaring national debt and widespread illiteracy. Unfortunately my three minutes expired before I completed my entire (three minute, twenty-five second) public comment.
