🚨This post is for every child mislabeled as "disabled" by a government-run, union-controlled education system, where flawed Educator Preparation Programs prioritize progressive, theory-based instruction over proven reading programs and teaching methods that prevent reading failure. It’s also for every parent of an IDEA-eligible child denied their federally protected right...

🚨MAJOR ALERT🚨 Trump’s Education Secretary is preparing the biggest assault on public schools in modern history: Elizabeth Warren puts it best: Maybe the WWE wasn’t the place to find a Department of Education head?! Here are the facts you need to know about Trump’s FY 2026 budget request: ✅ A proposed $12 BILLION cut — 15% of the entire Department of Education budget. This would wipe out more than 40 federal programs, slash Title I funding for low-income schools, gut special education services, and put up to 420,000 teaching and support jobs at risk. Imagine skyrocketing class sizes, fewer special ed services, and the total dismantling of equity programs. ✅ Freezing $6.8 BILLION in already-allocated K–12 funds. This is money districts were counting on for the new school year — funding for after-school programs, English-learner and migrant education support, teacher training, and enrichment programs. All stopped in their tracks, leaving schools scrambling. ✅ Laying off 1,400 Department of Education employees. These aren’t redundant staff — these are civil rights lawyers who enforce anti-discrimination laws, teams that oversee special education compliance, and workers who manage student financial aid. With these layoffs, expect delays, fewer protections for vulnerable students, and chaos for families counting on federal support. ✅ Canceling $900 MILLION in education research. These are critical studies on literacy, teacher effectiveness, school safety, and equity. Killing this research means states and schools will be flying blind when it comes to improving outcomes for kids. This isn’t draining the swamp. It’s draining the future of every child in America who depends on public education. BLAST THIS EVERYWHERE! #ClassroomsNotCuts

This destroys basically every Democrat fearmongering narrative about Donald Trump’s bill to Abolish the Department of Education Breakdown of Returning Education to our State's Act: - The Child Nutrition Program is not paid out by the Department of Education. This is managed by the Department of Agriculture (So it’s not impacted) - Federal Pell Grant Program, federal Family Education Loan Program, William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program, federal Perkins Loan Programs, all not going anywhere. They're still gonna be alive and well, just moving to the Department of Treasury (This is BIG one) - All functions, programs and authorities of the Secretary of Education under the Individuals with Disability Education Act shall be transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services. This is your IEPs, your early intervention, your special education grants, your free special education services. Those all will just be moving to the Department of Health and Human Services (Not financially impacted) - Each authority and program of the Office of Indian Education of the Department of Education shall be transferred to the Department of Interior. Those are programs designed for Native Americans specifically in their education (Not financially impacted) - Title Eight of Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 shall be transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services. This includes the financial assistant that local education agencies get that lose property tax revenue due to the presence of federally connected students. So those who live on Indian lands have military family or parents. Those in federally, low rent housing, those types of situations, this is where all that falls, and it will just be moving to the Department of Health and Human Services. (Not financially impacted) -The Health Education Assistance Program and the programs under the Education Science Reform Act of 2002 will all also be moving to the Department of Treasury. (Health Education Assistance Loan program is for healthcare field loans for those that are in the medical field.) - The Education Science Reform Act of 2002 are programs to that generate and apply education research to improve teaching, learning, and policies nationwide is moving to the Treasury “All of these things will still be alive and well just moving to a different department” There’s a lot more great information in this video

Dr. Njoki Fernandes sat on a television studio and told Kenyans that there is a private school for every pocket and that parents should stop pushing their children into congested public schools. It is the kind of statement that can only come from someone who has never had to choose between school fees and food. Nobody takes their child to a public school because they prefer it. They take them there because it is what they can afford. The parent in Kibera, the farmer in Turkana, the bodaboda rider in Eldoret did not sit down and weigh private school options against public ones. They had one option and they took it. Telling them to consider private schools is not advice. It is an insult dressed in concern. The real question that should have been asked on that television programme is this. Why are public schools congested in the first place? Why are dormitories unsafe? Why are there not enough teachers, enough classrooms, enough fire extinguishers? The answer is that the government has chronically underfunded public education while the elite that makes policy sends their own children to private schools and international institutions. They have no personal stake in fixing what they do not use. If the government fully funded public education, ensured proper capitation from primary to secondary level and made basic education genuinely free and properly resourced, the conversation would be completely different. Parents do not need to be told to find a private school. They need a government that treats public education as a right worth funding properly. Your privilege should not be used to generalise a narrative. Dismas wa Tabu. Dreaming in installments. Billed in full.

Today I was in court because the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) sought a restraining order against me. My "threat" was peacefully protesting and demanding answers. I asked a simple question: Where is the forensic audit? Chicago taxpayers continue to pay more in property taxes, and CPS continues to receive significant funding, yet far too many of our children are still not proficient in reading, math, and writing. Parents and taxpayers deserve transparency, accountability, and honest answers about why our educational system continues to fail so many students. I will never stop speaking up for taxpayers, parents, and the citizens of Chicago. If they can silence one citizen for asking questions, they can silence all of us. I refuse to let that happen. As Mayor, I will implement a comprehensive education platform focused on transparency, accountability, and results. My administration will conduct independent forensic audits of CPS finances, ensure every dollar is spent effectively in the classroom, and hold leadership accountable for student outcomes. We will implement school choice. I will prioritize early literacy, expand access to high-quality tutoring and after-school programs, support and retain excellent teachers, and ensure safe, well-resourced schools in every neighborhood. We will also strengthen partnerships with parents and communities, because education works best when families are empowered and informed. My goal is simple, every child in Chicago will have the tools, support, and opportunity to succeed.
