Unfortunately my three minutes expired before I completed my entire (three minute, twenty-five second) public comment. The speaker following me graciously offered to yield their time to me so I could finish the remaining twenty-five seconds of my comments, but the Broward County School Board Chair (Alhadeff) declined their offer. 🤷🏼‍♀️ If that was an attempt to censor me, then that is unfortunate for each and every one of BCPS' 69% of students who are UNLIKELY to excel in reading, writing, and math, in the next grade that they’re entering this Fall. #FAPEdenied Today, I’m re-reading and recording my prepared comments for all Broward County Public Schools School Board members, and my followers and trolls to hear, because each child’s civil right to free and appropriate public/public-funded education (FAPE) and human right to read at grade-level, proficiently should be each Americans' priority. #LiteracyIsEquity #ScienceofReading #StructuredLiteracy cc: Chris Nelson 🏝️🇺🇸 Daniel Foganholi

I made an unfiltered video explaining how we solved the fundamental data and attendance problems in education. If teachers don’t come to school then students won’t learn and if students miss school, it will also affect their learning. When a child attends school 100% and still fail, then it’s the fault of the teacher. Our system tracks everyone and it’s extremely helpful for the government to track live data as well. Every child should be accounted for because they matter. Imagine a state government knowing exactly the number of children currently in school? That will be a no brainer. Decision making will be precise and transformative. I will continue to do my best to ensure that we fix education in Nigeria.

This is managed by the Department of Agriculture (So it’s not impacted) - Federal Pell Grant Program, federal Family Education Loan Program, William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program, federal Perkins Loan Programs, all not going anywhere. They're still gonna be alive and well, just moving to the Department of Treasury (This is BIG one) - All functions, programs and authorities of the Secretary of Education under the Individuals with Disability Education Act shall be transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services. This is your IEPs, your early intervention, your special education grants, your free special education services. Those all will just be moving to the Department of Health and Human Services (Not financially impacted) - Each authority and program of the Office of Indian Education of the Department of Education shall be transferred to the Department of Interior. Dr. Njoki Fernandes sat on a television studio and told Kenyans that there is a private school for every pocket and that parents should stop pushing their children into congested public schools. It is the kind of statement that can only come from someone who has never had to choose between school fees and food. Nobody takes their child to a public school because they prefer it. They take them there because it is what they can afford. The parent in Kibera, the farmer in Turkana, the bodaboda rider in Eldoret did not sit down and weigh private school options against public ones. They had one option and they took it. Telling them to consider private schools is not advice. It is an insult dressed in concern. The real question that should have been asked on that television programme is this. Why are public schools congested in the first place? Why are dormitories unsafe? Why are there not enough teachers, enough classrooms, enough fire extinguishers? The answer is that the government has chronically underfunded public education while the elite that makes policy sends their own children to private schools and international institutions. They have no personal stake in fixing what they do not use. If the government fully funded public education, ensured proper capitation from primary to secondary level and made basic education genuinely free and properly resourced, the conversation would be completely different. Anybody who knows me knows how passionate I am about education. My dad was a pediatrician and I was on track to become an early childhood educator. We have a national education crisis in America. Both parties have gotten sidetracked on the education metrics that matter by engaging in culture wars – whether it be bathroom access or what topics we can teach in schools. We need to nationalize the 'Mississippi Miracle' and 'Alabama on Math' models to improve our kids’ reading and math scores. I refer to this as TART: ✅Technology (to make kids ready for AI disruptions) ✅Attendance (to tackle the significant absentee rate post-COVID) ✅Reading (using the Mississippi Miracle doctrine) ✅Truth (to ensure parents know their kids' progress based on national standards) I spoke with Megyn Kelly about where we have gone wrong in education and what we can do to fix it.

Weingarten: It’s really only the Congress that can abolish the Department of Education. So, what the president can do is make government basically ineffective—not work—by a thousand cuts. And that’s what they’re doing. So, if you essentially fire the entire staff, or 80% of the staff, of Social Security, and somebody needs to get a Social Security card, they’re not going to be able to get it in a timely way. If you fire everybody who’s doing hurricane watch, you’re not going to have hurricane watch… The same is true in terms of education. If you fire everybody, or you make it unfeasible for it to work, then none of the laws that are supposed to be effectuated by the department will work. So, if Title I is supposed to go to a high school in Staten Island, and they’re supposed to get $5 million that goes there, and all of a sudden it doesn’t, and they don’t have the money, then that means the programs go away. That means the reading programs, the computer programs, the after-school programs—all the programs that are funded by Title I, and every schoolteacher in America understands what that means—they go away. The same goes for the programs for kids with disabilities under IDEA. If a school system, or a school—because these things go directly to schools—if the funding goes away, a kid doesn’t get physical therapy or occupational therapy

On friday , I spent most of the day in Mbale City inspecting various government schools and other key public infrastructure. I was disappointed to find that some government-aided schools are still charging students school fees despite the clear Presidential directive prohibiting such charges. Accompanied by local leaders and security chiefs, we directed the immediate suspension of all unauthorized school fee collections. No student should be denied access to education because of illegal charges. The Government of Uganda already provides substantial funding to these schools. For example, Mbale Nkoma Secondary School receives over UGX 1.2 billion annually, while Mbale High School also receives slightly over UGX 1 billion each year to support its operations. Charging tuition in government-aided schools is prohibited. Every Ugandan child deserves the opportunity to access free education in government schools. Only approved external examination fees may be charged where applicable, while meal fees remain optional. Let us all work together to eliminate corruption at every level. Every shilling meant for our children’s education must serve its intended purpose. We need to abolish the Department of Education. English literature majors — the people who will become teachers — are going to college without having ever read a book because they "don't know how" and were never expected to because of "critical literacy", which is essentially critical theory applied to reading which teaches kids to basically invent their own meaning based on their feelings when reading a text instead of understanding what the author actually meant. If that sounds so obviously stupid that you can't believe it's true, congratulations, you now understand why giving the corrupt federal government the power to decide education curricula for every child in America was a mistake.

Today our Good Morning community brought the spirit of Giggle Academy into real life together with our partner Fanos Academy. We visited a public school in Oromia, Ethiopia 🇪🇹, outside the capital city, where more than 3,000 students study each day in 2 shifts. This time we focused on the youngest kids. Their excitement, curiosity, and smiles showed us once again why education is the most powerful gift we can give. We could only prepare shirts and learning materials for 30 students, and it reminded us how many more children in the world are waiting for opportunities like this. We will keep going until every child has access to learning, inspiration, and a chance to grow without limits. Free education for every child. That vision is what Giggle Academy stands for. Thank you CZ 🔶 BNB for inspiring a world where knowledge reaches every home and every heart.

🚨 Heads up, Utah — this is not okay. 🚨 The UEA is creating an “Equity Ambassador” program for teachers to “advance racial and social justice work in public schools.” They are pushing to lead "systemic change" on how and what our kids are being taught. Our children deserve classrooms devoted to learning — math, science, reading, writing, history, etc. — not political indoctrination. And this is just part of a larger national issue. Watch the video below to see what I’m talking about. As a father of an educator, I know this is not who our teachers are, so why are we letting the union take control? ❗️Let me be blunt: Schools are for education, not agendas. If you feel the same, share this post. Ask your district and school board: 1. Why is the UEA trying to advance racial and social justice work in public schools? 2. Today I was in court because the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) sought a restraining order against me. My "threat" was peacefully protesting and demanding answers. I asked a simple question: Where is the forensic audit? Chicago taxpayers continue to pay more in property taxes, and CPS continues to receive significant funding, yet far too many of our children are still not proficient in reading, math, and writing. Parents and taxpayers deserve transparency, accountability, and honest answers about why our educational system continues to fail so many students. I will never stop speaking up for taxpayers, parents, and the citizens of Chicago. If they can silence one citizen for asking questions, they can silence all of us. I refuse to let that happen. As Mayor, I will implement a comprehensive education platform focused on transparency, accountability, and results. My administration will conduct independent forensic audits of CPS finances, ensure every dollar is spent effectively in the classroom, and hold leadership accountable for student outcomes. We will implement school choice. I will prioritize early literacy, expand access to high-quality tutoring and after-school programs, support and retain excellent teachers, and ensure safe, well-resourced schools in every neighborhood. We will also strengthen partnerships with parents and communities, because education works best when families are empowered and informed. My goal is simple, every child in Chicago will have the tools, support, and opportunity to succeed. At #Mahadevpur, I was glad to take part in a meaningful event organised by GIVE Foundation and DTF, where we distributed shoes to 650 students and honoured young achievers. I'm proud to share that this historic school will soon be developed into a model institution with ₹15 crore in CSR support. It’s heartening to see parents now choosing government schools over private ones.
