I spoke with our American friends through CNBC this morning. My message: this continent has everything it needs to achieve North American security and independence in energy, critical minerals and the supply chains both our economies run on. Canada has the resources. The United States has the refining and manufacturing capacity to add two or three times their value and export those products around the world. That partnership adds millions of jobs to the U.S. economy and strengthens American trade surpluses with other countries. Every day we spend arguing about tariffs is a day we hand ground to countries that are not our allies. Neither nation can afford the job losses and increased consumer costs of continuing the fight on trade. Let’s get back to the negotiating table, get to a deal and move forward.

I joined Fox Business this morning to advocate for a tariff free relationship, and for both federal governments to get back to the negotiating table. My message to Americans is clear: tariffs and counter tariffs increase costs, disrupt supply chains, put pressure on businesses and workers, and impact families in both countries. The U.S. benefits greatly from free trade with Canada because their refineries and businesses take our raw resource exports, such as energy, add two or three times their value through processing and manufacturing, and then export those value-added products around the world. This adds millions of jobs to the U.S. economy. It also enhances U.S. trade surpluses with other countries. It’s an amazingly beneficial trading relationship for both countries that we should be building - not breaking. Let’s get back to the negotiating table, finalize a deal & move forward as friendly neighbours and allies again.

A student visa is a temporary document to study in Canada. That was always understood. Our universities and colleges were built by Alberta taxpayers, first and foremost for Alberta students. Where there is room for international students, the terms are simple. Earn your education, then return home to build a life with it. Rules are what make a fair system fair and our country needs to return to an immigration process that respects the rules.

Tariffs and counter-tariffs are harmful. They disrupt businesses, threaten jobs, drive up inflation and strain the relationship between Canada and the United States. Threatening to cut off or tax Alberta’s energy is not the answer. It would devastate Alberta’s economy, hurt workers and businesses across Canada and risk losing our largest energy customer. There is a better way forward. We need to support Canadian workers and businesses being hurt by these tariffs, double down on diplomacy with U.S. lawmakers and governors, break down interprovincial trade barriers, buy Canadian wherever possible and strengthen relationships with international trading partners to open new markets for Canadian products. We need to move projects forward, starting by approving the pipeline to the west coast immediately to get construction underway as soon as possible. It is integral to reaching more markets for Alberta oil and strengthening Canada’s economic independence. Canada will not win this battle through brute force. We will win by being smarter, more strategic and more agile. Less talk. More action. That is how we win.

Most Albertans have probably seen the headlines about companies wanting to invest in and build AI data centres in Alberta. Many Albertans are excited about that, but others have legitimate questions. Here are the answers to 6 common questions on everything from power to water to land use and how these investments will financially benefit our province now and in the future.

One Card. That’s it. Starting July 2, Albertans can get a new driver’s licence or ID card that includes their healthcare number and proof of citizenship, all on one secure card at no additional cost. No more flimsy paper cards. No more carrying multiple pieces of ID. Just a common-sense change that makes life easier.

Alberta is not going to leave $10 trillion dollars in the ground. Not a chance. The west coast oil pipeline will create hundreds of thousands of jobs, generate hundreds of billions for roads, schools and hospitals, and keep our taxes amongst the lowest in the developed world. Here’s how 👇 Please share this with those who have questions about Alberta’s plan to build the new west coast pipeline.

I know the last decade under the Trudeau-NDP was difficult and Albertans have every right to be frustrated. But thanks to the leadership of Albertans, the tide is finally turning in our favour. The vast majority of Trudeau’s ‘9 bad laws’ have been scrapped or reformed. Investment has begun flowing back into energy, tech, and agriculture, and we are creating more jobs than the rest of the country combined. Now is not the time to give up hope. Now is the time to double down and help Canada reach its incredible potential. With Alberta leading the way, we can turn Canada into one of the most strong and prosperous economies in the world. On October 19, I will be voting for Alberta to remain in Canada. I hope you will join me in doing so.

It’s time for Prime Minister Mark Carney to join me and millions of our fellow Canadians in supporting the appointment of Don Cherry to the Order of Canada, one of our nation’s highest honours. This shouldn’t even be up for debate. Don Cherry is a Canadian icon, a hockey legend and is loved by Albertans. He’s not just one of the greats, his word and opinion about our national sport is still treated as hockey gospel by millions of Canadians. His contributions to Canadian sport and culture are undeniable, and the work he did to honour our nation’s veterans was an invaluable contribution to our country. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Canadians. So, put the puck in the net and give Grapes the recognition he deserves. Read the full story here:

In late 2024, Alberta’s government passed legislation to preserve the choices of children and youth, improve access to health services and protect children, families, and parental involvement in the education system. Since passing this legislation, three lawsuits have been filed by activist organizations, with one injunction already in place. Alberta’s government has been clear all along – we are prepared to use every legal and constitutional tool available to protect the health and well-being of children. If passed, Bill 9 the Protecting Alberta’s Children Statutes Amendment Act, will invoke the notwithstanding clause to: ✅ Preserve the future choices of children and youth ✅ Strengthen the role of parents as a child’s primary caregiver ✅ Ensure fairness and safety in amateur competitive sports.
