In 2001 I broke the DB record at the Combine — 31 reps 225. My personal best in training was actually 39 reps (before the 2007 season). Found out post-retirement: labrums torn in BOTH shoulders. Emergency back surgery in 2012. Haven’t trained much in 12 years… averaging only 30-40 days/year. You have to master the position BEFORE you can move it with velocity. More coming soon 🔥 #Rebuilding #BuiltNotBorn

A lot of interest on my training posts.Seems people are wanting more information on the details. Been working on it. Same system that built me. Same one I'm running with my son now. He's 18. I'm 48. He's learning. I'm coming back. We both need A LOT MORE detail work on the technique. It's always about the HOW, not the WHAT. Working on something. Cohort opens early June. The list gets the open notice 24 hours early. The list — link in bio. Built, Not Born.

30 years ago I started a journey. Not one scholarship offer. The reason? I was deemed too slow. That day I DECIDED nothing would stop me. I found my trainer Jay Schroeder and started an unorthodox training program that tested me physically, emotionally, and psychologically to level I could have never imagined. I lived by the mantra that: Your will to PREPARE for success had to be far greater than your desire for success. I went all in, committed my heart and soul, and 5 years later - 25 years ago - I had my chance to show the NFL how far I’d come. Here the video from my pro day: 40 YD - 4.37 Short Shuttle - 3.83 3 Cone - 6.37 Long Shuttle - 10.77 Pedal Flip - 4.11 I also benched 225 lbs 31x , vertical jumped 39.5", broad jumped 10'10" I literally transformed myself from a nobody to one of the best in the world in 5 years. I post this not to brag but as a reminder. BELIEF is powerful. Don't ever allow or entertain anybody's judgment or narrative about you, even for a microsecond. DOUBLE DOWN on yourself and always put it all on your shoulders. Have immense GRATITUDE for what God has put in front of you. Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t earn a scholarship, that I had to walk on, that I had to fight and sacrifice to a level I never thought possible... To BELIEVE in myself so deeply that nothing could ever stop me. I have immense pride in that journey... More than in any NFL accolade. It represents defying the impossible and forms the foundation for everything I do in life today. My only regret? Back then, I thought it was all me. It wasn't. Better late than never: all glory to God #AlBundy #GloryDays #Resilience #NeverQuit #NFLCombine

Why I Don’t Love the Seahawks Tackling Video! I’ve got strong feelings about how we teach tackling. Every time I share my contrarian take, someone pulls up this 10+ year old Seahawks video. There are definitely some good things in it, but parts are undeniably contradictory and I just can’t agree with them. In this breakdown I explain exactly why I don't like it, why see the game the way I do and why I challenge so many traditional assumptions about the game. I always back it up with tape. This is just the intro, I’ll break down the rest later because it’s long. Agree or disagree, it’s worth the conversation. #ArchesAngles #FilmRoom #Tackling

I ask myself all the time.. Is it players or plays? Are we putting players in a position to succeed or are we just calling blitzes for the sake of calling blitzes??? For some reason the Rams defense gave Seattle easy access to the middle of field for the SECOND time in 2 games!! #ArchsAngles #RamsvsSeahawks #Rams #Seahawks12 NFL on CBS 🏈

DISGUISE! Be EXOTIC! That's all I hear lately. Change the QB picture! Teams must focus on WHY they do things—what's the purpose? GOOD NEWS for Ravens! Jesse Minter is about technique and fundamentals. With the Chargers, his defense was rarely confused and out of position. I will beat the drum: Read KEYS, play TECHNIQUE, TACKLE, and you will always have a chance to make a play. Most big plays don't come from being too simple—they come from assignment errors and indecision. #ArchsAngles #FootballIQ #DefensiveMindset #JesseMinter #NFL Baltimore Ravens

Memory Lane! The 25-year anniversary of getting drafted #20 by the St. Louis Rams in 2001 — truly an amazing day. Equally amazing is this 4-minute ESPN video they did on me and my trainer Jay Schroeder two days before the draft. How many people were impacted and inspired by it still blows my mind, from current professional athletes and players to world-class performance coaches and everyone in between. To this day, it’s usually the first thing people bring up when they meet me. It brings me a lot of joy knowing that our work is still helping and inspiring people all these years later. To all the young guys getting drafted tonight and the rest of the week: Congratulations! Take full advantage of this opportunity, work your butt off, and enjoy every moment! You will never get this time back!! #NFLDraft2026 #Rams #NFL

"Marry the run and pass" so it looks the same. Defense can do it too!! Marry the "Blitz, Disguise, and Coverage!!" I watched every 3rd & 7+ of the Seattle Seahawks defense this season. They rarely disguised and never ran exotic coverages. Here is one of the rare ones... Being under control, knowing your keys, and playing with physicality will always beat trying to fool the QB!! #ArchsAngles #NFL #Seahawks #seahawksvspatriots NFL on CBS 🏈

Cover 0 🧵 1/2 I always ask: Are coaches putting their players in the best spot to succeed? Cover 0 can be great when it hits, but if the offense is prepped? Trouble. Sam Darnold was sharp on that game-winning OT drive vs. the Rams. Defensive coaches gotta think twice about dialing up Cover 0 (blitz) in those end-game spots #ArchsAngles #Seahawks #Broncos NFL on CBS 🏈

Breaking down a few sharp play designs from Sean Payton—simple but deadly with spot-on execution. He once told me offensive coaches give defenses too much credit. No need for fancy stuff; it's the DETAILS and TECHIQUE that win or lose the play. A simple 4-vertical concept vs. zone pressure, but the DETAILS are what result in a 27-yard catch by Mims! #SeanPayton #Broncos #BoNix

Can’t wait to watch the CHESS MATCH! Chargers thought they could run the same 1st & 10 blitz twice—2nd series, it stuffs the run with Maye under center. Next drive? SAME LOOK but Maye sees it pre-snap, adjusts the play/protection, and gets it to Rhamondre Stevenson for 46 yards. Terrific adjustment between series. McDonald will have to think twice before giving the same look!! Drop a comment on Breakdowns you want to see!! #ArchsAngles #Patriots #DrakeMaye #NFLFilm #Chargers NFL on CBS 🏈 New England Patriots

Why I don’t love this drill: - “Parallel Feet” – does not produce force when hitting or tackling and encourages stopping your feet and “catching” the runner. Imagine if a running back at contact got his base wide and started chopping his feet parallel—would he break any tackles? - Tackling with force comes from decelerating with a “Gather Step” (staggered feet) and then re-accelerating just before contact by driving force into the ground. - “Head Up” tackle. Only in rare cases should a defender find himself head-up on a runner. 90% will be some sort of leverage tackle. You can even see in this clip he tries to get his helmet to the side, because head-up is unnatural. I recently did a breakdown on Demario Davis the 1st clip was as close to perfect of a “Heads Up” tackle in the hole as you will see.

Breaking down Cover 0 🧵 1/4 New England Patriots blitzed Stroud 19 times last week. Same vs. Stidham? Could be, but Cover 0 crumbles without nailing the details—alignment, eyes, leverage... Here's a 3rd & 9: Pre-snap disguise looks solid, but it costs 'em on execution.
