Under Agricultual Nationalism there will be a flourishing of alternative building methods brought on by a reformation of code and zoning. We call this Neo-Vernacularism. Buildings will prioritize brick, stone, steel and wood. The idea is to densify suburbs and rural towns while cash flowing new brick kilns, lumber mills, stone quarries, etc. New methods will be encouraged, with special emphasis on systems that are accessible to small teams of zoomer builders. Homes should be built with an emphasis on longevity. Tin, slate, clay tile roofs, durable siding. Low heating/cooling costs. Unemployed graduates and white collar workers will work for these zoomers doing office and sales work if they can't do trade labor themselves.

We don't even need to harvest and destroy the native plants, we can build up giant compost sausages and keep them floating in the water for years as they grow to a harvestable size. Load them with biochar and filter out the river water while they sit. Come along with a special boat and scoop 'em, grind/liquify and pump into a waiting tanker truck.

One of my major motivations for drawing attention to the concept of 22nd century agriculture is the preservation of small town architecture. It's intangible cultural heritage. We will never, ever be able to rebuild these buildings once they're torn down.
