NEW: Drug cartels are rapidly advancing their drone capabilities — and U.S. officials are now concerned they could be learning from the battlefield. There are reports cartel affiliates are being sent to the Russia-Ukraine war to gain battlefield experience — potentially bringing those skills back to Mexico. A Department of State spokesperson saying, “The Department of State takes seriously reports of transnational criminal organizations’ growing use of drone technology and tracks the issue closely… The Department of State engages U.S. law enforcement and Ukrainian counterparts to adopt measures to mitigate the risk of battlefield skills transfer and apply lessons from Ukrainian counter-UAS experience to counter the cartel drone threat.” In a statement, CBP telling NewsNation, “In fiscal year 2025, CBP detected over 42,000 near-border, unmanned drone flights. This fiscal year, detections have exceeded that number… Cartels use drones to conduct surveillance on U.S. law enforcement, to move illegal narcotics across the border into the United States, and to guide illegal aliens across the border. Inside Mexico, cartels use weaponized drones against rival cartels, law enforcement, and military personnel to evade arrest and capture. They continue to advance their drone technology and tactics, to conceal their movements and operations. President Trump’s executive orders and overall focus on cartels and air dominance has empowered CBP to combat and mitigate cartels’ use of drones. Additional technology resources have benefited border security operations. #EXCLUSIVE A leaked State Department document obtained by NewsNation lays out the administration’s case for increasingly aggressive U.S. action against Mexican cartels. The topline: “Mexican cartels present a danger to the safety and security of the United States.” The leaked document points to a survey showing a majority of the 1,000 Mexicans polled support U.S. actions against cartels in Mexico, including: — U.S. indictments of Mexican officials accused of cartel ties — U.S. strikes on alleged drug traffickers in the Caribbean and Pacific — U.S. attacks on drug labs or arrests of cartel members inside Mexico without notifying the Mexican government — The U.S. military unilaterally killing alleged cartel members in Mexico The factsheet also highlights the cartels’ extensive footprint across Mexico and points to recent violence, including an Aug. 30 car bombing outside a police headquarters in Zacatecas — described as the third explosives attack against police forces in less than a week. It also cites unconfirmed videos allegedly showing members of the rival Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel interrogating and killing two alleged CJNG lookouts—Another video shows a CJNG drone unit deploying a drone while armed with assault rifles. NEW: Federal prosecutors say they are looking for anyone — including Americans or U.S. businesses — who may be providing material support to cartels designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. Asked whether U.S. citizens or American entities could face terrorism charges for providing money or other support to the cartels, U.S. Attorney Aaron Reitz said there are no active charges currently being brought against Americans or American entities — but made clear investigators are looking on both sides of the border. “We are interested in finding anyone, whether on this side or the southern side of the border, who’s providing material support to these foreign terrorist organizations.” Asked whether that could ultimately include Americans, he responded: “Yes, absolutely.” “We want to bring to justice anybody who is aiding, abetting, providing material support to foreign terrorist organizations.”

AZ: “If I pay $7,000 for America, it’s… I don’t care.” I talked extensively with 20-year-old “Os” (short for Osama) from Morocco who says because he paid money to get here, Americans can pay to help them. He tells me he was a streamer/gamer in his country and is hoping to drive Uber in New York where he says he has friends. He says he wants to pay into the system and work, despite not legally being able to do so—He and another guy from Morocco say they will “easily” find a way to make money here. He says he would rather kill himself than go back to Morocco because there was “no future” there—He and others also expressed their gratitude and love for President Donald J. Trump None of the individuals I spoke to from Africa knew about the CBP One App that allows migrants to sign up for “legal entry” through a port when they are in Central America and Mexico—Os allegedly traveled through both.

NEW: More than 2,000 pounds of methamphetamine hidden inside a shipment of cabbage seized in the Rio Grande Valley, according to DEAHouston. The DEA says its McAllen office made the major seizure as part of an ongoing Homeland Security Task Force investigation. The operation was conducted jointly with Homeland Security Investigations, FBI, CBP, U.S. Border Patrol, and Texas DPS . The Homeland Security Task Force brings federal, state and local agencies together to target cartels and transnational criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking and other crimes. The investigation is ongoing.

#BREAKING A Texas National Guard soldier deployed from McAllen to Eagle pass under Operation Lonestar was busted for attempting to smuggle an illegal immigrant in a government vehicle on Sunday. Kinney County Sheriff Brad Coe says the soldier turned around when he approached a pop-up tactical Border Patrol checkpoint off 674 in Kinney County that had only been operational for a few days—The behavior alerting agents who attempted to stop the suv—The sheriff says Texas DPS got involved with the pursuit and used spike strips which ultimately stopped the vehicle. KCSO assisted in the stop—TX DPS is currently investigating but sources tell me the soldier did not have access to the license plate readers or other technology that would have aided him in his efforts. He was armed so that escalated the smuggling charge. Sources say he was promised $5-6k to transport that one individual. ICYMI: General Dagvin Anderson, commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) ties Mexican cartels to drug trafficking out of Africa saying Mexican cartel members were present at 11 of 12 labs they interdicted. He added that the cartels are linked to the biggest cocaine seizure in history worth roughly $1B — Adding that the drugs are bound for the Middle East, Europe and the U.S. through the northern border.

NEW: Maryland Senator Senator Chris Van Hollen says his request made to the VP of El Salvador to visit Kilmar Abrego Garcia was denied. The senator said he was told by the Vice President "you need to make earlier provisions to visit CECOT.” Van Hollen says he wasn’t able to meet with Abrego Garcia or have a phone conversation with him. The Vice President told him if the American Embassy were to ask "maybe that could happen." —Van Hollen says he will make the request to the embassy. The senator is now calling on Nayib Bukele to let Abrego Garcia “walk out” of the prison and come back to the U.S. saying he was abducted. The Trump administration maintains that Abrego Garcia is a member of MS-13. President Bukele says he is not going to release Abrego Garcia to smuggle him into the U.S.

NEW: 13,061 unaccompanied minors have now been located according to an HHS official. ICE has also arrested 422 sponsors for involvement in suspected child abuse or other crimes are discovered. The abuse is determined through a multi-faceted investigation—Local police, CPS, federal agencies all involved, according to HHS. 320,000 unaccompanied minors essentially were unaccounted for under the Biden Administration. The Trump Administration has vowed to find them. Former investigators with HSI have explained to us that often times these kids are left behind as payment, the parent is promised by the cartel member that they will eventually be reunited in the U.S. the child is often recycled to help single adults enter the country illegally.

NEW: Governor Greg Abbott says the construction pause in Big Bend National Park is a “consequence” of his conversation with Secretary Markwayne Mullin over the weekend where he committed to scrapping any barrier construction in the park—There was not going to be a 30 foot wall, but it sounds like they’re also going to do away with the vehicle barriers that were planned for the area. Governor Abbott says they can use technology and other resources to prevent illegal crossings. A lot of the clearing (now paused) is for patrol roads… It will be interesting to see if that scrap that part of the plan as well.

TX: If you are a U.S. citizen you waited 30+ minutes in the TSA line at San Antonio International airport this morning. If you were released into the country after crossing illegally—You get your own line with little to no wait time. Sign reads: “Please take out your Airplane ticket and IMMIGRATION DOCUMENTATION” *They did go through the TSA screening along with everyone else.

Just now: A woman repeatedly stands in front/sits down in front of federal vehicles and is pepper balled several times—An altercation with federal law enforcement ensues—She was then arrested and taken into custody for obstructing federal law enforcement. She is the 4th person arrested today here at the Broadview processing facility.
