A lifelong lover of animals, I have devoted my life to animals who need help the most, those in shelters. I also am a life long passionate fan of horse racing.

#3 Top Thriller eased then pulled up in deep stretch in the 5th at Saratoga...most likely from either heat stress or some other non-musculoskeletal ailment. Was hosed off and entered equine ambulance on own power for ride back to the barn. Did not appear to be in any major distress. Vets attended to him immediately. It may have always been being done...and I may just be noticing it more now...but with all the research going into cardiac events in racehorses...its good to see checking heart sounds and rhythm occurring in these cases...

Rated by Merit (I think) also getting extra attention from vets on walk back to barn. Extra cooling off and attention to heart rate or rhythm bring made too. Shows how the vets dont stop paying attention once the race is over...which is the way it should be...
