Making CCTV footage of counting rooms public is a legitimate demand to ensure transparency & accountability. In fact, ECI should start live-streaming of the counting centres, strong rooms & polling booths for all elections. This will help build public trust in electoral processes. It is routinely done in several jurisdictions. See below, livestream of the counting centre in Maricopa County in the US. The live stream is 24*7, available even when there are no elections being conducted.

The Ram Mandir Trust has refused to be accountable under the RTI Act claiming it is an independent trust. Further, Ministry of Home Affairs has classified the entire file regarding the setting up of the Trust as "confidential” - refusing to disclose it under section 8(1)(g) of the RTI law on the grounds that disclosure would endanger lives! Supreme Court is finally hearing petitions challenging the law on appointment of election commissioners. The matter has been pending in the SC since January 2024. In the meantime, current CEC, Gyanesh Kumar, and 2 Election Commmioners were appointed. After the Constitution bench judgment in the Anoop Baranwal case in 2023, the BJP govt had brought the law to replace the CJI with a cabinet minister on the selection panel for appointing Election Commissioners. With a 2:1 majority, the law empowers the ruling party to select candidates of its choice as Chief & commissioners of the ECI. Hope the SC upholds the letter and spirit of its landmark 2023 judgment.
