This is exactly why reckless e-bike riding is a serious public safety concern. A juvenile rider chose to flee from deputies through a residential neighborhood, reaching speeds and taking risks that endangered everyone nearby. Riding carelessly, the rider narrowly avoided crashing into a fence that could have resulted in serious injury. Too often, riders treat e-bikes like toys. They are not. E-bikes can travel at high speeds and, when operated recklessly, become a danger to pedestrians, motorists, and the riders themselves. If a deputy attempts to stop you, stop. Running from law enforcement is not a game, and it is not without consequences. Intentionally fleeing from deputies can result in felony eluding charges or other criminal and traffic offenses. Our deputies are committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe and safety is a shared responsibility. Parents, know where your children are riding and talk with them about following traffic laws and respecting law enforcement. One poor decision can change a life forever. Ride responsibly.

🐾K9 Hero in Action! K9 Rex, one of our ACSO dogs trained to find missing children, helped locate a 7-year-old girl after she was separated from her mother for nearly two hours. Rex found her in just 12 minutes! Deputies responded to a park in the 6400 block of S. Telluride St. on April 2 after the young girl ran off because she didn’t want to leave. Deputies, K9 units, and drones immediately began searching the area. Deputy Gray and K9 Rex got to work using the girl’s shoes to track her scent. Rex quickly picked up the trail and led deputies to a nearby backyard where she was found. The scared girl tried to run again, but Deputy Halliburton safely caught up with her. She was unharmed and reunited with her family. This was Rex’s first time successfully locating a missing child since completing his tracking training last year. Great work by everyone involved, and way to go, Rex! 👏 #K9Hero #GoodBoy #teamwork

Our deputies responded to a domestic dispute involving Vicki, 71, and her boyfriend. Vicki told Deputy Weiner the argument started because her ‘babies were hungry.’ She is parenting her two great-grandchildren, ages 8 and 10. She told deputies her boyfriend had cooked the last two hot dogs for dinner and made the kids watch him eat, while they went to bed hungry. The argument escalated resulting in the boyfriend calling 911, but when deputies arrived, they determined Vicki's story was more credible and asked the boyfriend to leave. Deputy Weiner said his heart broke for the children, so he left the home and went to Walmart to buy groceries. Vicki was so appreciative, she encouraged us to share this body camera video. Thank you Deputy Weiner for the kindness, compassion and generosity you showed this family. #helpingthecommunity #kindnessmatters

Arapahoe Sheriff Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying two shoplifters in this viral video being shared on social media. Investigators have already identified and arrested the driver, Jorge Pantoja, 32, the man in the green shirt. Pantoja is currently in custody at the Adams County Detention Facility on unrelated felony charges. He has also been charged with Theft/Shoplifting, a Class 2 Misdemeanor. Investigators are still trying to identify the other two men in the video, both white males wearing blue shirts and jeans. One of them goes by Robert, he has dark brown hair, a mustache and wears glasses. The other goes by the name Bugsy and is wearing a blue shirt with a Superman logo and a baseball cap. Investigators say the theft happened on June 18, 2023, around 6:40 p.m. The suspects stole approximately $400-$500 worth of laundry detergent and Downy Unstopables from the King Soopers grocery store at 5050 E. Arapahoe Rd. in Centennial. Investigators located the registered owner of the vehicle who stated he loaned the car to a friend. The driver was then contacted, arrested and stated he picked up two other males at the Light Rail station at I-25 and Belleview and offered them an opportunity to make some money. The men told the driver their names were Robert and Bugsy. The person who shot the video posted it to Instagram and the Sheriff’s Office was made aware of it when it was sent to us the next day. Investigators also want to speak with the person who filmed the theft. The video currently has millions of views and has been posted and shared on social media by celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, a rapper/actor with more than 80 million Instagram followers. If you think you can identify the other two men in the video, please contact our Investigations Tipline at 720-874-8477 or email [email protected]. More photos and information here:

Here's something you don't see every day -- a SpaceX rocket on the roadway! This was being transported through Centennial and Sgt. Dasso, who was working patrol, captured video of it as it was travelling northbound on S. University Blvd. The 190 ft. rocket was so big, workers had to get out and manually steer the rear axle so it could pivot to make the turns. They even had to lift the streetlight cables at one one point so it could pass through. Five of our patrol units escorted the rocket through our area then other agencies took over as it travelled through theirs. It was quite the site to see! #elonmusk #isthisyours CherrYHills Bitch Englewood Police Department Littleton Colorado Police Department Greenwood Village Elon Musk

On June 17 around noon, Deputy Kurzinger was dispatched to a medical call at The Trails Recreation Center in Centennial. A 74-year-old man was unconscious, not breathing and had no pulse. Four rec center employees jumped into action and began performing CPR on the victim. One employee connected an AED, another performed chest compressions, another kept track of the compressions and the fourth was providing ventilation. Upon arrival, Deputy Kurzinger took over CPR due to the employee being fatigued. When South Metro Fire Rescue arrived, Deputy Kurzinger continued to assist with life-saving efforts until paramedics had their equipment ready. By that time, the victim had a pulse and was transported to the hospital. Just before the victim got into the ambulance, he gave a head nod to the deputy that he could hear and understand him. Deputy Kurzinger said without the help of those four employees stepping up immediately, knowing what to do and performing quality CPR, the man would not have survived. #selfless #heroes #savinglives

Deputy Holmes and Deputy Hackler were on patrol around 11:00 p.m. on February 5 when they stopped a motorist for driving without license plates. Daniel Elias told deputies he didn't know how to install his plates due to a learning disability. He had his license plates with him, as well as proper insurance and registration. Rather than give him a ticket, the deputies helped him put his license plates on. He was so appreciative and encouraged us to share the video. Thank you Deputy Holmes and Deputy Hackler for the genuine kindness and compassion you showed Mr. Elias. #helpingthecommunity #kindnessmatters #serveandprotect

Deputies Rescue Woman from Roof On November 18, deputies responded to a call in the 6500 block of S. Lisbon Ct. about a woman who had fallen while on a roof. When deputies arrived, they found a 69-year-old woman lying on her back with her legs dangling over the edge as she braced herself on the gutter. Two caretakers were on ladders holding her in place, but feared she would fall. Deputy Witzman quickly retrieved another ladder, and he and Deputy Bullard climbed onto the roof while Deputy Perez assisted from the ground. Once on the roof, they pulled the woman back from the edge and helped her back inside through a nearby window. The home was later identified as a host home for adults with dementia and Alzheimer's. The caretakers had been hanging Christmas lights when the woman opened a second-story window, walked out onto the roof, and slipped. Thankfully, she was not injured. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Deputies Witzman, Bullard, and Perez for their quick thinking and teamwork.

Centennial Nursing Home Employee Arrested for Elder Abuse The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an employee of the Orchard Park Health Care Center at 6005 S. Holly St. in Centennial for the alleged abuse of an at-risk adult. Patience Jackson, 33, was arrested at her home on June 11. She is facing charges of: Criminal Negligence – Felony Class 5 Crimes Against an At-Risk Person – Felony Class 5 Complicity – Felony Class 5 On May 9, 2025, Investigator VanCleave was called to Sky Ridge Medical Center on an elder abuse allegation against a 92-year-old female victim who suffers from severe dementia. Hospital employees had noticed the victim had two separate broken bones in her lower leg (a tibia-fibula fracture) after being transported to the hospital via ambulance from Orchard Park Health Care Center. Hospital employees told Investigator VanCleave that the victim’s injuries were not consistent with the injuries stated in the report by Orchard Park Health Care Center. That report noted that the victim was found sitting in her wheelchair, screaming for help in terrible pain, that no one had seen her fall, and they did not know what happened. After almost four weeks of a detailed investigation, Investigator VanCleave gathered enough additional evidence to indicate that two female employees at Orchard Park Health Care Center -- Patience Jackson, a Certified Nursing Assistant, and Zainab Namale, a Licensed Practical Nurse, were likely untruthful about how the victim obtained her injuries. The investigator also believes both suspects were complicit in their actions to hide the truth of what happened to the victim. Investigator VanCleave believes the victim’s injuries occurred on May 8 and were caused by criminal negligence, which is a crime against an at-risk person. An arrest warrant was obtained for both employees. Jackson was booked into the Arapahoe County Detention Facility and is being held on a $2,500 bond. There is currently an active arrest warrant for Namale. This case remains an active, ongoing investigation. The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual committed a crime under Colorado law. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. If you ever encounter someone being abused, it is critical to take action. Please contact your local law enforcement or County Department of Adult Protective Services. Your prompt response can make a difference in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable citizens.

🚨 Move Over It's the Law 🚨 Deputy Lindberg was handling an abandoned vehicle on northbound I-25 at E. Dry Creek Rd. when more than a dozen vehicles flew by him at a high rate of speed, making his job inherently more dangerous. He went after a white van, pulled it over and cited the driver. We tell you this because, if you do this, you're looking at a $150 ticket and a 3-point license violation. You're also putting our deputies lives at risk. Colorado's Move Over Law requires you to move over one lane or significantly reduce your speed when approaching emergency vehicles with flashing lights. The law is in place to protect first responders who are working on our roadways often in already dangerous conditions. Please, when you see those lights, MOVE OVER or SLOW DOWN. It’s not just a courtesy, it's the law. #beresponsible #followtherules #savelives
