This was my interview with Sky News, recorded before the Air Force confirmed the second crew-member was safely recovered. That matters more than people think. If he had been captured or killed, it would have shifted things in a real way. It would have handed the Islamic Republic a propaganda win and weakened the U.S. position. But zooming out, rhetoric matters. Talking about sending a country “back to the Stone Age” or hitting civilian infrastructure is not strength. It costs you the moral high ground and hands your opponent the narrative. The objective should be clear. The end of the Islamic Republic. Regime change is not a dirty word. In some cases, it is necessary. This is a regime that will claim victory even in collapse. Half measures don’t work. Finish the job. Then secure the region, protect key waterways like the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea, and create a buffer along southern Iran to prevent it from coming back. Anything less just drags this out.

I was young when I left Iran. I always felt more American. Enough to want to serve this country. Enough that my life, my future, my sense of belonging were built entirely here. I never went back. But in 2022, something changed. It hit me how much we can do, and how much it matters to do it. How little separates us from those boys and girls in Iran. Same dreams. Same stubborn hope. Same hunger for a normal life lived freely. I was flying from London to Los Angeles when I saw the images of Hadis Najafi. Her small body riddled with bullets. 7.62 rounds. She was barely in her twenties. She loved to sing. She loved to dance. Young, beautiful, alive. Until she wasn’t. For some reason, I couldn’t get Hadis out of my head. For days. Then weeks. Then ever since. This is the story of those same young boys and girls (now, years later) still being murdered. Still being hunted. Still paying the price for wanting what we take for granted. They are being killed by a brutal, tyrannical regime that survives on fear, lies, and blood; and that also happens to be the world’s largest sponsor of terror. This isn’t distant. بنا بر قانون اساسی، حکومت حتی در مورد افرادی که دولت آنها را بهطور قطعی مجرم میداند، یا غیر قانونی اینجا هستند، باز هم موظف است اصول دادرسی منصفانه را رعایت کند و نمیتواند بدون طی کردن مراحل قانونی و عادلانه، آنها را مجازات یا حقوقشان را سلب کند. این اصل یکی از ستونهای اصلی عدالت در نظام حقوقی آمریکا است. دادرسی منصفانه (یا “Due Process”) به این معناست که دولت نمیتواند بدون رعایت مراحل قانونی و منصفانه، جان، آزادی، یا دارایی کسی را بگیرد. این اصل یکی از پایههای مهم حقوق بشر در قانون اساسی ایالات متحده است (در متممهای پنجم و چهاردهم قانون اساسی آمریکا آمده است). دو نوع اصلی دارد: 1.دادرسی منصفانه شکلی (Procedural Due Process): دولت موظف است قبل از اینکه تصمیمی علیه یک فرد بگیرد، مراحل مشخص و عادلانهای را طی کند. مثلاً اگر بخواهد کسی را از کار اخراج کند یا گواهینامهاش را باطل کند، باید ابتدا به او اطلاع بدهد، فرصت دفاع بدهد و روندی منصفانه را رعایت کند. 2.دادرسی منصفانه ماهوی (Substantive Due Process): این بخش از دادرسی منصفانه از برخی حقوق اساسی انسانها محافظت میکند، حتی اگر دولت مراحل شکلی را رعایت کرده باشد. مثلاً حق ازدواج، حق داشتن حریم خصوصی، و حق تربیت فرزند. حتی در مورد افرادی که دولت آنها را بهطور قطعی مجرم میداند، باز هم موظف است اصول دادرسی منصفانه را رعایت کند و نمیتواند بدون طی کردن مراحل قانونی و عادلانه، آنها را مجازات یا حقوقشان را سلب کند. این اصل یکی از ستونهای اصلی عدالت در نظام حقوقی آمریکا است. خلاصه اینکه: دادرسی منصفانه یعنی رفتار عادلانه و قانونی دولت با افراد، حتی با کسانی که آنها را مجرم میداند
