This is why we keep demanding truth, accountability, and justice in a system that too often steals the futures of our people. Too often, Black women face limited options or are not heard. This outcome shows what is possible when patients are listened to and given real care. For generations, burning crosses were used to intimidate, threaten, and instill fear in Black communities. Seeing one set ablaze in a public park in 2026 is disturbing and unacceptable. Black families deserve to gather, celebrate, and make memories without fear of becoming targets. This was no misunderstanding but a deliberate act that endangered the lives of children and elders. When innocent lives are put in the crosshairs of hate, accountability is not optional and justice is NOT negotiable.
