Rachel Hampton lost more than 53 pounds but her stomach would not go down. Then she fainted. An MRI revealed she had 23 fibroids so severe there was almost no uterine tissue left. She was told she would likely need a hysterectomy. She got a second opinion and fought for her uterus. Surgeons removed 21 fibroids and her uterus was preserved. Black women are more likely to develop fibroids at younger ages and experience more severe symptoms than other groups. If something feels wrong, please go get checked. The earlier you know the more options you have.

Two Black boys running a lemonade stand received an unexpected show of support after someone called 911 on them. Instead of shutting them down, Kansas City police officers and firefighters showed up to support them, helping them earn hundreds of dollars. This is what community should look like! Investing in our youth instead off discouraging their entrepreneurship. ✊🏿

Brionna Johnson was told she would have to end her pregnancy and undergo a hysterectomy. Instead, a 27-pound fibroid was removed while preserving her pregnancy and her ability to have children. Too often, Black women face limited options or are not heard. This outcome shows what is possible when patients are listened to and given real care. Equity in maternal care is not a luxury, it is a necessity.

A 1-year-old child is dead after police officers in Mississippi opened fire on a vehicle in a crowded Walmart parking lot in Senatobia. His mother, who has not been charged with any crime, says she was trying to communicate to officers that there was a baby in the car. They fired anyway, leading to the death of an innocent 1-year-old. We intend to seek justice for baby Kohen and the life that was stolen from him.

A historic Black cemetery in Palmetto, Florida, was vandalized, with graves damaged and “Trump” and “DeSantis” spray-painted across tombstones. Our ancestors deserve dignity in life and in death. Desecrating sacred burial grounds is hateful, painful, and unacceptable. We must protect Black history and honor the families impacted by this cruelty.

Former Okaloosa County Deputy Eddie Duran is seeking immunity after fatally shooting Senior Airman Roger Fortson in his own home in May 2024. Responding to a false 911 call, Duran fired within seconds after Roger opened the door holding his legally owned firearm pointed toward the ground. ICE arrested Arlit Martinez two days before her 15-year-old son died from cancer. The Maryland mother of four was headed to work when she was detained. Despite urgent pleas from her family, lawyers, and doctors, she was not released to say goodbye. She is reportedly still in federal custody. Her husband is now left to grieve and bury their son alone. This is beyond cruelty.

A 9-year-old boy was building a fort with his friends in Naperville, Illinois. A man came out of his home and allegedly hurled a racial slur at the child, pushed him, and threw his bike. It is horrific that this young king has to experience hate so young. This is why we fight. We are glad to see felony hate crime charges filed. Our children are allowed to play in our communities. Hate has no place in our neighborhoods, our streets, or anywhere near our children.

Sharonda Stewart tried to book an Airbnb in Dunwoody, Georgia and never received a response. When she went back to look closer at the listing she discovered language describing the neighborhood as a peaceful white neighborhood. The message was clear. A platform operating globally reportedly allowed a listing with that language to stay up for nearly a year after being notified.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo woke up at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, kissed his wife goodbye and drove off to pick up his construction crew just like he had done every day for 35 years. He never saw his family again. An ICE agent shot and killed him during a vehicle stop in Houston. ICE has since confirmed he was not even the target of their operation. He was a husband, a father and a hard worker. How many more families have to bury their loved ones before this stops? This is WRONG! Justice for Lorenzo!

We are fighting for answers on behalf of the family of Daniel Erving. For three months, they have asked what happened to their son, an 18-year-old honor student and swimmer who went to Lake Ray Hubbard with two others and never came home. Now police have arrested two individuals for allegedly tampering with evidence in Daniel's death. They are accused of hiding his clothes, throwing away his phone, and deleting messages. If this was an accident, why hide the evidence?
