Nobody wanted to adopt Rebeca. Until this happened → She's around two years old, rescued off the streets, and for months she went to adoption event after adoption event without anyone choosing her. Then she came to the Aurraia BabyDoge event and this time, someone finally said YES. Today Rebeca has a family, a couch she's definitely not supposed to sleep on (but does anyway), and more mess-making energy than anyone expected. Playful, affectionate, and finally home. The supplies made it to the shelters. Last month, 500 BabyDogers in Cruzeiro showed up with over 1,000 lbs of dog food, cases of toys and beds, medicine, and every item the shelters had asked for. This week, our team and partners delivered every item to Amantes e Protetores de Animais de Cruzeiro and União Protetora dos Animais. Brazil has 30 million strays and none of them are going to be saved by anyone but people who show up. The next event is already being planned🐶

Brazil has around 30 million stray dogs. They live in the gaps between buildings, in alleyways, behind houses. Many won't survive the year. Last weekend in Cruzeiro, our Brazilian community decided not to look away. Before the event even properly started, people were already arriving with bags of food, boxes of supplies, toys, beds, leashes, bowls. Everything local rescues asked for. Some people came alone. Many came with their dogs. Most had never met each other before. But within minutes, strangers were helping strangers carry bags, sort donations, and organize everything on the floor before anyone even had to ask. The result: 1,009 lbs of dog food donated. Toys, beds, leashes, bowls, and other supplies collected. 500 people came together, had fun, connected with each other, and helped local shelters support dogs in need. That is what this is about for us: making charity feel like community, bonding, and shared purpose. People need to enjoy the day while working toward something bigger together. None of this would have been possible without our Brazilian community lead, who held everything together on the ground from start to finish. Big thanks to him and to all the amazing volunteers who joined us and helped make this happen. You are phenomenal. This was more than an event. It was proof that when a community moves with purpose, abandoned dogs get fed, shelters get support, and real impact reaches the street. Brazil, thank you. We are coming back soon 🐶🇧🇷

Venezuela update. Our verified partner is Red de Apoyo Canino RAC. Based in Caracas, operating since 2007, helping over 11,000 animals every year. Internationally partnered with SPCA International and GlobalGiving. Their team is already on the ground responding to the earthquake by rescuing dogs from the disaster area, getting injured animals to vets, distributing food and water in the worst-hit zones. The Baby Doge Mobile Unit was in action this week, helping save doges in Central Park, NY. The North Shore Animal League America teamed up with the New York Mets for an event using the Baby Doge Mobile Unit as a mobile adoption center! Almost 80 pets found their forever home.
