This Easter, I’m reminded that what started in pain and sacrifice ended in victory and beauty. What looked like the end on Friday became the beginning of eternal life with the Lord for those who believe—on Sunday. 1 Corinthians 15:14 speaks of Jesus’ resurrection as the cornerstone of Christian belief! Creation reflects the Creator. And the empty tomb is the most beautiful reminder of His love for us. Take a moment today to look around and give thanks for ALL the beauty you see, hear, taste, and even feel in the softness of things to the touch. Recognize that every good and perfect gift is indeed from the Lord! It all originated from God. #HelloBlessedPeople 🙏🏾 Your experiences are NOT your identity!! Seems simple, but far too many fall into this trapped mindset! You can’t be who you ARE and who you WERE at the same time. And you can’t reach for the future while you’re still holding onto the past. Sometimes your past will tell you STOP. Your circumstances will tell you STAY. Your comfort will tell you DON’T MOVE. Meanwhile, the Holy Spirit may be telling you… MOVE in this particular direction in this particular way!! 🙏🏾 Move by FAITH. Move in an uncomfortable direction. Move toward something you can’t fully see or understand yet. But here’s the key to this fruit… You have 2 B CONNECTED TO THE VINE!! Spend intentional time with the LORD. Pray. Get in His Word. Listen more than you talk!! Because there may be doors GOD has already opened that you can’t see yet. Opportunities He’s been preparing through some of the darkest things you’ve GROWN THROUGH!! #HelloBlessedPeople 🙏🏾 30 years ago… I sat and watched team after team pass me by, most of them TWICE! In my mind, I should’ve already been gone before the 61st pick. The last pick in the first round, or as I thought about it, the first pick in the third round. But because I was not “ideal” and labeled a “tweener”, I sat excitedly, yet angrily, awaiting my name to be called. But as I grew in my walk with Christ, I began to understand that, for the believer, delay is often God’s setup. That frustration… that anger… I was blessed by the Lord to harness those emotions, to build something far greater than what I imagined possible… that chip on my shoulder became an asset to my new teammates, organization, home & fan base, not a liability!! I didn’t run from it. I USED IT. Used it in my preparation. Used it in my mindset. Used it to become who God was calling me to be. What felt like rejection… was really direction. Many of us spend so much time trying to do more that we forget to spend time with the One who gives us the strength to do it all. TRUST is an ACTION WORD!! Abraham wasn’t perfect, but he trusted GOD enough to MOVE. He left what was comfortable because he trusted the CHARACTER of GOD more than the certainty of his circumstances. So let me ask YOU… How much INTENTIONAL time are you creating for your Creator? Because you & I know, we MAKE time for those things that we deem important!! So, instead of reaching for your phone to call or scroll… what if you reached for GOD’s Word? Instead of trying HARDER…what if you trusted DEEPER? Faith isn’t about having all the answers… It’s about having a relationship with & trusting the One who does!! Recognize your own limitations and surrender your struggles & perceived strengths to GOD, allowing His divine strength to take over and work through you! 2 Corinthians 12:9-11 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. But FAITH doesn’t require us to know the entire schedule… it requires us to TRUST the One who does!! Sometimes, or better yet, oftentimes GOD won’t show you the whole season. Too many opinions. Too many unnecessary battles. No wonder your mind feels heavy & you feel fatigued! GOD didn’t create you to give your attention to everything. He created you to be faithful to what He’s called YOU to do. And pray about the other things! When your purpose becomes clear, your priorities become clearer. And when your priorities become clearer, the fruit of peace rises up to replace confusion. Take a moment today and take a deep breath, ask yourself: What am I carrying instead of giving it to GOD? What am I giving my attention to that doesn’t deserve it? Lay it down! Ask the HS to help you remove the clutter. Focus on what matters. Walk in purpose. Something that didn’t exist when I was coming up, but even if it did, I wouldn’t have seen myself being invited to attend as “A Talent.” I’m always humbled by the love, but let me make one thing clear. In my eyes, it was never the fans’ job to cheer for me. It was my job to give them something worth cheering for!! Philly fans don’t just support you. They demand your best!! Because they have given their best, in their hard-earned cheese, to consistently, enthusiastically show up unapologetically and help create a unique home field advantage. And if you have similar or, in my case, greater expectations for yourself, a strong filter, and a willingness to give maximum effort, take accountability, and fix mistakes, they can also be part of the formula that challenges you to be your absolute best. #HelloBlessedPeople 🙏🏾 We say we trust God… but do our actions MATCH it!? It’s easy to speak faith. It’s harder to LIVE it when things feel uncertain, when life isn’t going how we planned, when we don’t have the answers! That’s where humility shows up. Humility is NOT weakness! It’s not thinking less of yourself. It's thinking of yourself less. It’s having the strength to release control and trust that God sees what you cannot see. A lot of what we carry… we were never meant to carry. The stress. The worry. The anxious thoughts. The need to figure everything out. The pressure to control outcomes. God didn’t ask you to hold it together… He asked you to give it to Him. And TRUST HIM!! And once you give it to Him… leave it there. STOP picking it back up. Stop replaying it. Stop trying to fix what only He can handle. Trust Him fully. Rest in Him completely. And walk in the peace that comes from knowing He’s in control. I’m sure this is not the first time you’ve heard this, so here’s a friendly reminder: Comparison will rob you blind if you let it!! You’ll start looking left and right so much that you lose sight of what God has already placed in front of you, and more importantly, inside of you. You weren’t called to run their race. You were equipped to run yours. Look up. Stay focused. Stay faithful. You are a blessed original, 1 of 1.
