This Easter, I’m reminded that what started in pain and sacrifice ended in victory and beauty. What looked like the end on Friday became the beginning of eternal life with the Lord for those who believe—on Sunday. 1 Corinthians 15:14 speaks of Jesus’ resurrection as the cornerstone of Christian belief! Creation reflects the Creator. And the empty tomb is the most beautiful reminder of His love for us. Take a moment today to look around and give thanks for ALL the beauty you see, hear, taste, and even feel in the softness of things to the touch. Recognize that every good and perfect gift is indeed from the Lord! It all originated from God. #HelloBlessedPeople 🙏🏾 30 years ago… I sat and watched team after team pass me by, most of them TWICE! In my mind, I should’ve already been gone before the 61st pick. The last pick in the first round, or as I thought about it, the first pick in the third round. But because I was not “ideal” and labeled a “tweener”, I sat excitedly, yet angrily, awaiting my name to be called. But as I grew in my walk with Christ, I began to understand that, for the believer, delay is often God’s setup. That frustration… that anger… I was blessed by the Lord to harness those emotions, to build something far greater than what I imagined possible… that chip on my shoulder became an asset to my new teammates, organization, home & fan base, not a liability!! I didn’t run from it. I USED IT. Used it in my preparation. Used it in my mindset. Used it to become who God was calling me to be. What felt like rejection… was really direction. What felt like a setback… was part of His plan. Don’t waste what you feel. Don’t fight it… FAITH it! Use it!! "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." If you are submitted and let them, The Holy Spirit and the Word of God are constantly working in us, just like a gardener works the land. They clear out the weeds, break up the hardened soil of our hearts, water us with truth, and plant seeds of wisdom, discipline, and faith. But here’s the thing. We must not only allow them to tend the soil of our heart/mind, but we must also do our part. We must be intentional about what we allow to grow in our minds/hearts. What we watch, read, listen to. #HelloBlessedPeople! 🙏🏾 When I look at this picture from my senior year in High School, I don’t just see a young kid with a dream—I see a seed. The greatness God placed in me wasn’t ahead of me, it was already in me, just waiting on the right conditions to grow. This type of seed needed encouragement, lessons from failure, character built through struggle and suffering, and most importantly—a deeper connection with my Heavenly Father. And Just like an apple seed needs the sun, water, and good soil… your spiritually seeds need the Son, the Word of God, and a repented heart that’s open and willing to grow. And oftentimes, that transformation? It happens in the dark, where no one sees it. We transform on the inside, so we can perform with purpose and do great things on the outside. Too many people want something strong but don’t want to build it strong. Which takes work!! #HelloBlessedPeople 🙏🏾 We say we trust God… but do our actions MATCH it!? It’s easy to speak faith. It’s harder to LIVE it when things feel uncertain, when life isn’t going how we planned, when we don’t have the answers! That’s where humility shows up. Humility is NOT weakness! It’s not thinking less of yourself. It's thinking of yourself less. It’s having the strength to release control and trust that God sees what you cannot see. A lot of what we carry… we were never meant to carry. The stress. The worry. The anxious thoughts. The need to figure everything out. The pressure to control outcomes. God didn’t ask you to hold it together… He asked you to give it to Him. And TRUST HIM!! And once you give it to Him… leave it there. STOP picking it back up. Stop replaying it. Stop trying to fix what only He can handle. Trust Him fully. Rest in Him completely. And walk in the peace that comes from knowing He’s in control. Something that didn’t exist when I was coming up, but even if it did, I wouldn’t have seen myself being invited to attend as “A Talent.” I’m always humbled by the love, but let me make one thing clear. In my eyes, it was never the fans’ job to cheer for me. It was my job to give them something worth cheering for!! Philly fans don’t just support you. They demand your best!! Because they have given their best, in their hard-earned cheese, to consistently, enthusiastically show up unapologetically and help create a unique home field advantage. And if you have similar or, in my case, greater expectations for yourself, a strong filter, and a willingness to give maximum effort, take accountability, and fix mistakes, they can also be part of the formula that challenges you to be your absolute best. #HelloBlessedPeople 🙏🏾 Our eyes are one of God’s greatest blessings, but they can also be a huge detriment. With them, we can begin to compare ourselves. I’m sure this is not the first time you’ve heard this, so here’s a friendly reminder: Comparison will rob you blind if you let it!! You’ll start looking left and right so much that you lose sight of what God has already placed in front of you, and more importantly, inside of you. You weren’t called to run their race. You were equipped to run yours. Look up. Stay focused. Stay faithful. You are a blessed original, 1 of 1. Indeed, slow down on some things or change from one thing to another as your body speaks to you. Studies show that when you stay active, you gradually lose athletic performance around your mid-30s until your mid-70s unless you stop moving, stop training, or let injuries take over. (This is not meant for those who have things that prevent them from moving altogether) God designed these bodies to MOVE, to WORK, to GROW, to THRIVE. Taking care of yourself—mind, body, and spirit—isn’t just about fitness; it’s about stewardship. When you INVEST your limited time in building you, you honor what He gave you by taking great care of you, and you stay ready for whatever comes your way.
