A Palestinian family is besieged by the IDF and settler terrorists in Qusra, in the West Bank. No one is allowed in or out: no food, no ambulances, no journalists. This is a new method for carrying out the same policy: forcing Palestinians off their land. Here’s how it works🧵

It’s not just settler terror: over a hundred settlers broke into several Palestinian villages in the West Bank, setting homes and cars on fire. They even wounded several soldiers who were escorting the Tubasi family as they tried to return to their home in Jalud, from which they had been expelled. Israeli officials are now condemning settler terror, but the state itself is backing this violence. The Tubasi family had been expelled because the IDF backed terrorists who besieged their house for weeks. They allowed terrorists to roam free while barring journalists and solidarity activists from accessing them. And now, as settler terrorists went on a rampage to prevent the Tubasi family from coming back, there was apparently no one in the IDF to notice a hundred masked men approaching the village. At this very moment, the IDF is imposing a closure on the entire West Bank, which severely restricts Palestinian movement for “preventing terror.” And yet, actual terrorists are free to come and go. Even after committing a pogrom, the vast majority of them, if not all, will never be held accountable and will continue to terrorise Palestinians. Why? Because the state backs it.

A group of 40–50 settler terrorists torched a mosque with people inside and several cars in the West Bank. How could the IDF have missed 40 young men on their way to attack a village? In fact, they couldn't have. They must have chosen to let it happen.

Palestinians already living under constant attack are facing a new wave of settler terror in the West Bank. The pretext: Friday’s shooting near Nablus. This escalation, however, was intentional, following a playbook the IDF and settlers have used for years.

Tonight: soldiers covering for a settler as he steals a sheep from a home in Deir Jarir. During the same operation, two Palestinians were shot dead under circumstances that have yet to be clarified. What is clear? The collaboration between the army and the settlers is absolute.

"The Perimeter:" a new collection of testimonies from soldiers who fought in Gaza in 2023-2024. It chronicles the systematic annihilation and expropriation of entire villages and agricultural zones while creating the new Gaza buffer zone, which the IDF “completed” last December🧵

A settler elbows an Israeli activist in the head and calmly walks away while soldiers on the scene look on. This all took place yesterday on private Palestinian land near the village of a-Twani in Masafer Yatta.

It’s the fifth day of the siege of Palestinian homes in Qusra, in the West Bank. Now, the IDF claims it is launching an operation in the village to “protect the residents.” We have a couple of questions: Dozens of settlers have besieged the homes for five days. Why didn’t the army stop them right away and instead chose to pray with them and stop journalists, activists, and ambulances trying to reach the family? The settler outpost from which the perpetrators came was established in January and has been involved in dozens of terror attacks. Why isn’t this outpost evacuated? The IDF has the capacity to impose a lockdown on entire Palestinian villages or even cities, demolish dozens of homes, uproot hundreds of olive trees, and forcibly displace tens of thousands of people. How come stopping a few dozen settlers from besieging a Palestinian family in a village where Israelis aren’t even allowed to be is such an impossible task for the army? There is only one answer: backing ethnic cleansing is the IDF’s policy. The army had all the tools to prevent the siege from happening in the first place or to break it from day one. Instead, it took an active part in maintaining it, both in Qusra and in Jalud, where a family was expelled after a two-week siege in July. And now, under tremendous international pressure, the IDF is still failing to even pretend that it is trying to confront violent settlers.
