The Filton 25 are a group of direct actionists who targeted Elbit Systems, Israel's largest weapons manufacturer, to stop the genocide in Gaza. They were all acquitted of the most serious charge of aggravated burglary and were released from prison. However, following the retrial of the first 6, four of them were remanded back into prison and are now facing sentencing on 12th of June with a possible terrorism connection. This is the first time in UK history that pro-Palestine activists will be sentenced for terrorism. 📅 12th June 📍 Woolwich Crown Court ⏰ 10am–5pm Join the mobilisation and show that direct action is not terrorism. It is a travesty of justice that Sam, Lottie, Ellie and Fatema Zainab were remanded today by a system which is complicit in genocide itself. Even the prosecution didn’t seek to remand them, but an arbitrary decision made by the judge. The Filton24 acted to save lives with courage and compassion. And they should be celebrated. Usama Ghanem is taking King’s College London to court for expelling him and triggering the revocation of his visa over Palestine Activism. He is now at potential risk of being deported to his native Egypt where he has been subject to abuses in the past! After Pro-Palestine protests at the university, Usama, an International student, was subject to a smear campaign leading to King’s College to punish him and other students. A letter handed to the Metropolitan Police signed by 75 organisations and over 1,000 people, demanding an urgent criminal investigation into Elbit Systems UK and to shut Elbit down. Emma Kamio (mother of Ellie – Filton24), Franck Magennis (Riverway to the Sea), and retired nurse Leigh Cadno delivered the letter. Elbit Systems is Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. Jordan, one of the five from the Filton 24 released last week, walked free with no convictions. Angelo Volante, a security guard for Elbit Systems UK, attacked Jordan with kicks, chokes, and even a sledgehammer while Jordan tried to de-escalate. He and other actionists were dismantling weapons intended for use in the genocide in Gaza.
