Unbelievable sequence from Bryson DeChambeau on his 3D printed 5 iron after a 4 over 76 today at the Masters. Reporter: “are you satisfied with the 5?” Bryson: “yeah, I mean, I only hit it once today, so…” Reporter: “how long does it take to make one?” Bryson: “prints in eight hours. Machines, they’re three or four hours. Then you have to cut grooves in it and do a bunch of other stuff. So you can have something within a day and a half. Reporter: “would that be something you would want to do for the weekend?” Bryson: “PFFTTTT 🥴🥴, no? It has to be USGA-conforming. There’s a whole process you have to go through.”

I have a real soft spot for this final approach into 18 by Tommy Fleetwood at Shinnecock in 2018, as I was standing directly behind it and couldn’t believe the sound it made. Not to mention the flight. He of course went on to hole the birdie putt for 62 to win the U.S. Open

Rory McIlroy was asked if he’s okay with/understands that they may water between waves on Thursday and Friday. Provided an interesting nugget about Shinnecock watering every day at 2 p.m. for members. “It’s a unique golf course,” McIlroy said. “The members at Shinnecock will tell you they do that every single day—every single day at this course the members play they put water on the course at 2 p.m. So, it’s a unique golf course and it seems like it’s just something they have to do. “For me it’s more... my concern was you don’t want it to look as if you’ve lost the golf course, and you’re starting to put water on it, which I don’t think is what they’re going to do. I think, especially with the heaviness of the wind on Thursday, it’s probably prudent to do that. “Friday doesn’t look as windy, but I think just for, again, fairness and competitive integrity, they do it on Friday, too. But I think they’ve got enough bandwith on the weekend that they probably don’t need to do it. So, I understand it. When I first heard of it my first reaction was ‘that’s stupid, why are they doing that?’ But then once you actually listened and you let them break it down to you, you’re like, yeah, that makes sense.”

![In between the Open and the Rocket Mortgage Classic, Ryan Gerard took his mom to Paris for a mini-sightseeing trip. They spent some time at the Louvre, where Gerard went on a search for a statue of a child choking a duck. Idk why but that just seems to fit his vibe. “I think the most random [memory] is I spent a good amount of time trying to find the worst statue I could possibly find because there’s just a lot of random statues. “In the Louvre, there’s a statue of a child choking out a duck, like full rear naked choke. So I felt like I found it pretty quickly.
