Bryson DeChambeau reflects on his comeback from 5 down to get a half against Matt Fitzpatrick yesterday and the US Team’s Sunday fightback: “I wasn't willing to give up for this team. They have been so amazing to me this week, and for however long I've known myself to be on this team, they have just been incredible. I couldn't give up for these guys. “And so my thought process was to just keep swimming, just keep moving and keep fighting back. I fought my ass off today for this team, for this country, and we all fought hard today. You can see, it reflects in the leaderboard and what we did today. “We're not quitters. We're not people that go down easy. So, so proud to be a part of this team, and it was great to get a half-point out of it. Wish I would have gotten a point, though.” The US needs some leaders heading into Adare Manor and Bryson is a guy who could definitely do that.

Bryson DeChambeau speaks about the balance between control and power in his golf game: “Golf isn't about hitting it 400 yards. I proved that a couple years ago. You've got to have a good wedge game, good putting, good iron play. So there is a balance. “But I'm never not pursuing how to swing it faster or have it come off the face faster and then learn how to control it. That's kind of my goal. I always go to how hard can I swing it, and then how do a back off of that. It's just my mentality. So I'll forever be pursuing a little bit of speed as time goes on. “This golf course, you can't swing it hard out here. You can hit it far, but you have to control your ball more than you can kind of just bomb it and let it go wherever. Fairways are tight. “I'll forever be chasing speed. Hopefully the technology can catch up with where our swing speeds are going because right now, any minor mis-hit can make the ball go quite a bit off line. That's why I've got what I'm using now, then working on some stuff, as well, to see if there's any improvements to be made from what I have now, and we'll see where the future takes us. “I'm excited to unveil some special stuff here soon. I've been talking about it for a while, but we just don't have anything that's as good as it needs to be yet.” Bryson has matured so much on and off the course over the last few years and he’s become a much more versatile player because of it. I looked at the beginning of it. It was fine. I guess it was a takeoff on the Lion King. A lot of people were covered. If they would have looked, they would have seen it and probably they would have had the sense to take it down.
