Mohammed Siraj, Indian cricketer from Hyderabad and DSP in the Telangana Police, called on me as per protocol. I have seen him right from the time he was playing tennis ball cricket and in the year 2013-14 , Abdul Azeem , the ex cricketer from Hyderabad and the selector then , had asked me to come and see his talent. He was made to play the two day leagues immediately and then in 2015 he played 3 day leagues and his speed and accuracy led to his making his Ranji trophy debut . 2016-17 he took 41 wickets in Ranji trophy and never looked back . His rise to representing #India across all formats of international cricket is a testament to how talent, discipline and hard work can overcome even the toughest obstacles. With his pace and intensity, he has consistently contributed to India's pace attack.He is a precious star from Hyderabad . I wished him success and many more memorable spells in India's colours. 🇮🇳🏏

The FIFA football World Cup finals was not as exhilarating as expected and throughout it looked as if only Spain should win as they made 21 attempts to score a goal against Argentina’s 2 , that too in the last few minutes. Can you believe that !? Two goals scored by Spain were disallowed by the referee and those decisions looked marginal ! For me Spain beat Argentina 3-0, not 1-0 . Messi was tightly marked and could not make any moves . Solid offensive and defensive game by Spain 🇪🇸 .Look at the solitary goal today from several angles 👇 #fifa

Just see this catch taken by Mickil Jaiswal in the TGT20 match yesterday in the Uppal stadium in the match between Khammam Aces and Ranga Reddy Risers .I have never seen a better catch than this ever since I first started playing league cricket in 1982 , even in all types of international cricket . What is spectacular is the way he landed and balanced himself without breaking his ankle or foot , so as not to cross the boundary. Any comments !

Watching and hearing about the stampede in Bangalore made me wonder where we are going ! This is not a national team winning the World Cup ! It’s a mere franchise called RCB which works on commercial lines and does not have a single Hyderabad player in it !? It’s not even a #Hyderabad based team ! The night round officers were totally taken by surprise at 12 in the midnight as hordes of youngsters and revellers descended on Tank bund ,NTR marg and Necklace road and behaved in an unruly manner, sample of which you can see in the videos below, quite alarmingly. Traffic got jammed in all directions . Seeing the situation and the hooliganism , extra forces were rushed and a lathi charge done to disperse the unruly crowd.From a police officer’s perspective, this unannounced celebrations on the streets by large gatherings are a big danger to public safety and may lead to exactly what we saw in Bengaluru. What if there were some deaths in Hyderabad too ? Can anyone expect celebrations for RCB in Hyderabad city ! But with the social media playing a huge role across the country and the globe , perhaps police has to be alert for everyone and everything in future ! Is it humanely possible to do so - is what I am wondering 🤔

Attended the Combined Graduation Parade at the AirForce Academy , Dindigul. I went more to relive the nostalgia of having gone with my parents to see my own brother , Chama Vinod Kumar , passing out as a young Air Force fighter pilot in 1979 , when I was only 11 years old. He passed away in a MIG21 fighter aircraft crash in November 1983. H’ble Union Defence minister Sri Rajnath Singh took the salute and addressed the gathering. Saw the wonderful parade and march past of the cadets followed by the nerve racking air show by Helicopter , Sukoi 30 and Surya Kiran squad . Met Air chief marshal Sri AP Singh and ex air chief marshals Sri Vivek Chaudhari and Sri Browne . All in all , it was a great nostalgic experience for me to relive this after 47 years and felt tears welling out thinking of my brother !

At the inauguration of the #Telangana Sports Meet I tried my hand at fencing for the first time in my life ! I have been watching this sport on TV in the Olympics and other world championships, but never got a chance to play it . Was great fun defending and advancing to attack - needs very fast reflexes I realised !

Had a meeting with the elders of the Muslim community who took a historic decision to postpone the #Milad Un Nabi juloos( procession) on 28 th September as it was clashing with the Ganesh final immersion on the same day.We agreed to make the needed arrangements on 1 st October. This is a shining example of the Ganga Jamuni tehzeeb (culture)of our city and state and the harmony with which people are coexisting. This automatically leads to more development and growth. I appeal to all involved to exercise utmost restraint in their celebrations and respect the sensitivities of each other to protect the greatness of this #City🙏🏻

It’s a slightly long post but please bear with me! It was a brilliant bit of bowling by Indian fast bowlers in the annihilation of Sri Lanka today . But honestly, as a person who expects genuine competition leading to tough matches , it is really sad to see the condition of the srilankan team and the pathetic levels to which their batting has fallen. 50 all out in the Asia cup finals , 55 all out today !! Are they not able to produce any more Jayasuryas, Jayawardenes or Sangakarras!!?? Similarly, it is so sad to see the condition of the West Indies team which didn’t even qualify for the WC ! There are hardly 10-12 countries which play cricket and out of them hardly 4-5 teams are worth their salt . It’s becoming more and more one sided and less fun to watch . Has it got to do with the financial aspects of cricket in those countries where Boards are unable to pay and Cricketers are fending for themselves through T20 and other leagues . The margin of victory today made me sad, honestly 🤷🏻♂️ #INDvSL #CWC2023

It was a very busy and perhaps the biggest day for me and my family . As per the muhurtham , I reached the DGP office at Lakdikapul with my family , took the salute and followed the pujari into the dgp chambers where the puja and blessings were done. Then at 11:05 AM , signed the papers and officially took charge as DGP (HOPF ).All the senior officers and office employees and large number of citizens greeted me . Before the press meet at 1 pm , I conducted a brief meeting with the senior officers present on a few issues troubling the department and took opinions. Then I addressed a long press conference where I outlined the priorities of the government and the agenda which we have set for ourselves and answered the tricky questions which journalists usually raise at such press meets . The visitors flow continued till 6 pm whereafter I left to greet the Hon’ble chief minister.

Attended the launch of the logo of the Telangana Premier #Cricket league (TPL) , a long felt need of every cricketer of #Telangana. 26 out of 29 states in India are running their own T20 cricket premier leagues and they have become the basis of identification of talent and selections into the IPL. So, finally with government support ,it is underway and I requested them to maintain absolute transparency and integrity in the entire process of tenders and team selections and also be legally on the right side so that no one can ever find fault with the process in future. I wish the team of HCA working this out under the leadership of justice Naveen Rao who is the chief administrator of HCA , all the best 💐👍🏽

Second time in a row the 70 feet Khairtabad #Ganesh got immersed by 1:30 pm on immersion day. Despite it involving a challenging procedure of moving the idol to the immersion point, dewelding and welding etc., our central zone police teams and the Utsav committee members toiled and succeeded in completing the immersion.Congratulations to all of them 💐.
