The contract between the Teachers' Union and Seattle Public Schools is signed, but Superintendent Ben Shuldiner reminds everyone; "So again, we are broke. We have an $87 million dollar deficit depending on how you look at it, and we are going to have about $40 million dollars left in the bank, after this year." We are expecting to hear about school closures and staff layoffs before June which will hurt Seattle families, but what other options do they have? KIRO 7
