Sachin Tendulkar’s suggestions to restore balance in T20 cricket and IPL (ESPNcricinfo) 1. Scrap the Impact Player rule. 2. Allow one bowler per team to bowl up to five overs instead of the current four-over limit. 3. Introduce dual Powerplays: a) A four-over batting Powerplay. b) A two-over bowling Powerplay, during which the fielding side is permitted one additional fielder outside the 30-yard circle. Tendulkar believes these changes could help restore the balance between bat and ball in modern T20 cricket.

Chasing a modest target against West Indies at Old Trafford, Waugh crawled to 19 off 73 balls and Michael Bevan made 20 off 69 as Australia scored just 12 runs in the final 10 overs. The deliberate slowdown was aimed at helping West Indies qualify ahead of New Zealand on net run rate, which would have allowed Australia to carry extra points into the Super Six stage. The plan ultimately failed when New Zealand crushed Scotland in their next match, but the game remains one of the most debated tactical moves in World Cup history.

There was never much love lost between Arjuna Ranatunga and some Australians, and his spat with Ian Healy in the 1996 Sydney ODI final summed it up. When Ranatunga complained of cramp, Healy was caught on the stump mic saying: ’‘You don’t get a runner for being an overweight, unfit, fat c***.” Healy: “Sanath Jayasuriya was padded up, the fastest man in world cricket, to replace the slowest man. So I blew up. There was no way he was as injured as he was making out. He was nine not out or something, and he said it was cramp.’’ Ironically, the pair later shared dinner together in Brisbane. #ThrowbackThursday

#Throwback In 2003 McGrath- “What does Brian Lara’s d*ck taste like?” Sarwan - “I don’t know. Ask your wife.” McGrath - “If you f**king mention my wife again, I’ll f**king rip your f**king throat out.” Sarwan went on to score a century, helping West Indies chase down a record target of 418 runs. ———————————————————— After few years McGrath said - “It (the memory of the incident) wouldn’t go away. The difference in our sizes looked terrible. I spoke to Sarwan and he was really good about it. He told me he wasn’t aware Jane was sick and he offered an apology, but I told him it was me who needed to say sorry.” No one punished for this incident. Both were let go free by the match referee Mike Procter.
