The video was first posted on an Instagram account called Buggyteeth. The tourists were stopped by a police officer for failing to stop at a stop sign. They were told that the fine was US$30. The tourists asked if they could be given a warning instead of paying the fine. During the discussion, the police officer asked for an iPhone instead. The ZRP says it has taken note of the video and has started investigations to establish whether the video is genuine and the circumstances surrounding the incident. PLEASE SHARE🙏🏾 | I was unfortunately a victim of a smash-and-grab robbery at the intersection of Borrowdale Road and Whitwell Road on the night of 25 August at around 9:40pm. At the time, I was stuck between other vehicles, with cars in front of and behind me. I had no room to move forward or backward when the attack happened. The man smashed my car window, grabbed my brown handbag, which contained my laptop and other personal belongings, and ran away before I could react. Fortunately, my dashcam captured the incident. If you recognise the man or have any information that could help identify or locate him, please inbox or report it to Borrowdale Police. I would also like to warn other motorists using this intersection. I suspect the attackers may be hiding in or near the open drainage manhole close to the intersection. This could allow them to stay out of sight while watching motorists and choosing their targets. Please be extremely careful when stopping at this intersection, especially at night. Leave enough space between your vehicle and the one in front so that you have room to move if necessary. Where possible, avoid getting boxed in between vehicles. From my experience, being unable to move made me an easy target when the attack happened. This intersection appears to be a hotspot for smash-and-grab robberies, so please take extra precautions. I asked him to take it off and he said he wanted money. Honestly why would you guys behave like animals? A car in motion, a driver not parked but getting into the parking lot, what if I had backed up in reverse and hit the guy without me knowing he was there? Or what if I hit vehicles parked in the parking lot or people walking around? What kind of behavior is that? Their 3 supervisors, apologized and said they will deal with their staff for behaving inappropriately. I had a length talk with them to stop abusing the public and atleast provide basic training to their staff before releasing them. I am offering free sessions to help them do better in future and better still provide proper training. If they had not handled the case satisfactorily, I could have sued the TTI company. UPDATE | City of Harare statement on Kuwadzana sludge The City of Harare says the black sludge seen coming from water tanks in Kuwadzana Extension is residue from water treatment chemicals that builds up at the bottom of reservoirs over time. The city says the sludge is not harmful and is being removed as part of an ongoing reservoir-cleaning exercise. Water distribution in the area is expected to resume after the cleaning is completed on 31 August 2026. The city also said some sludge has flowed onto roads because houses are located near a dislodging valve.
