.@ChuckTodd: “By the way, it's just three straight nominations where Democratic voters didn't get a chance to pick the nominee. The elites picked Hillary Clinton, the elites picked Joe Biden, and the elites picked Kamala Harris. There was no actual set of voters who felt like they had a say in this.”

WATCH: President Trump again SLAMS CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, reminding everyone she USED TO be a conservative reporter then became a liberal when she joined CNN... Collins: “Just to clarify on what you were asked earlier, is the $1.8 billion DOJ fund dead or is it on hold?” President Trump: ““It’s — I’d have to ask the lawyers, I don’t know. I know one thing: the weaponization.” Collins: “But —” Trump: “Are you talking about the weaponization fund?” Collins: “— yeah. What’s your decision?” Trump: “The weaponization fund, as far as I’m concerned was a beautiful thing. It was something I was — I didn’t make it, but I was — I heard that I thought that was the greatest thing because people like you have abused our people so badly. The fake news like, CNN, like The New York Times and like others, have abused our people.” Collins: “Well, Republicans are [inaudible] to it on Capitol Hill.” Trump: “Well, wait a minute. Be quiet. Have abused our people so badly and you should be ashamed of yourself. You — you used to be a conservative. She was a conservative from Alabama. Can you believe it? But CNN in particular —” Collins: “I’m still from Alabama.” Trump: “CNN does such false reporting, but now they have new ownership, so maybe it’ll straighten it out. I doubt it, but it’s hard to straighten garbage out. But CNN has abused and others have abused so badly — people. these are people that are great. People that would destroy their families, have been destroyed. Many suicides. They committed suicide. People that went there to — with love. They went there with love. You know, when I made that speech earlier in the day, tremendous crowd. I hate to say it because they’ll say, oh, I was wrong on the number, but I believe it’s the largest crowd I’ve ever spoken to by — by twice. The biggest crowd, I think bigger than the inauguration’s, bigger than anything. And there was so much love and — and friendship. It was the most amazing thing. People were crying.” Collins: “But Republicans are [inaudible] upset —” Trump: “Wait a minute. Let me finish.” Collins: “— that people who beat up cops —” Trump: “Let me finish. Let me finish. And those people have been abused by you and by others and by the politicians, by the Dumocrats. They’re dumb people. They want to have open borders. They want to have transgender utilization of your children. They want to have men playing in women’s sports. They want to have high taxes. They turn down — you know, they fought us on the tax bill and they fought us because they want people to pay high taxes because they’re crazy. There’s something wrong with them. There’s something wrong with you. It’s a shame.”

WATCH: Wednesday’s ‘CBS Mornings’ opened with 78 seconds addressing the decision by editor-in-chief Bari Weiss and new ‘60 Minutes’ executive producer Nick Bilton to fire Scott Pelley for insubordination... Vladimir Duthiers: “All right, before we get to the news this morning, we want to share with you some news about ourselves and long-time 60 Minutes correspondent, Scott Pelley. On Monday, new executive producer Nick Bilton called an all-hands meeting to introduce himself to the staff. That meeting became contentious when Pelley publicly questioned the management decisions regarding the replacement of the former 60 Minutes executive producer, Tanya Simon, and publicly criticized the decisions of CBS News management on the future direction of 60 Minutes. According to CBS News management, efforts were made to see if both sides could reach common ground. Pelley met with senior management of CBS News last night, and no agreement could be reached. Pelley was then informed by 60 Minutes executive producer Nick Bilton that CBS News and 60 Minutes would have to part ways with Scott. He was terminated for cause. Scott Pelley released a statement which expressed his ‘gratitude for the men and women of CBS News who encouraged and enriched my work very often at the risk of their own lives.’ Pelley went on to say, ‘I pray for a day when those people and their ideals are honored again, a day when sanity, competence, and courage return.’ In a letter to the staff, Bilton stated, ‘What I will commit to this is this: my unyielding support for each of you and the journalism that you do and what we will do together going forward.’” Nate Burleson: “Yeah, we know his impact on journalism and this network is undeniable.”

WATCH: 🇺🇸 David J. Urban 🇺🇸 BLASTS Gretchen Carlson by trying to downplay Lyndsey Fifield's abuse allegations against Graham Platner by invoking Trump.... Urban: “Come on, Gretchen, call it out. This guy’s disgusting. Shame on Kirsten Gillibrand, the chair of the DSCC, for standing with this guy. Kirsten Gillibrand took ax to Al Franken. No, listen, I said, Kirsten Gillibrand. I would hope for more outrage than you, Gretchen. Kirsten Gillibrand took an ax to Al Franken for making a terrible joke. It was a bad joke and bad taste, but went to the floor and demanded his head on a pike. And now, she’s standing with this guy because she’s the DSCC chair. What – what’s the difference between Mr. Swallwell, the terrible person he is, and Graham Platner, an even worse person? Who uses a –” Carlson: “What about Donald Trump?” Urban: “What kind of person is – Gretchen, I’ve been on this network repeatedly. There’s plenty of tape me saying he’s done bad things, and should have apologized. Plenty!” Carlson: “Okay, I don’t know why you’re angry at me.” Urban: “You’re looking in the wrong guy. I’m not angry at you, Gretchen. I said, shame on Kirsten Gillibrand for allowing this guy to stand. I think that he should resign from this race immediately or maybe not immediately. Maybe he should stay in until he gets nominated, so Republicans could beat the heck out of him, but he’s a terrible person. And for him to somehow say, oh, this – this – it didn’t really matter. It’s kind of – tried to softplay it and pedal it. I mean, it’s terrible. Democrats need to condemn it and come back, come on now. I don’t know how anybody could say what Swalwell did is okay – is terrible, but Graham Platner’s fine? That’s not even the worst part of the story, talking about the raping intruders, and there’s so many things wrong with the guy!”

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins: “You were talking about how busy you were this morning. James Comey was in court. He self surrendered. He’s now been charged a second time, this time over a social media post with seashells that said 8647. Do you really think that he was endangering your life or threatening your life with that post?” President Trump: “Well, if anybody knows anything about crime, they know — 86. You know what that’s a mob term for? Kill him, you know. Do you ever see the movies? 86 him. The mobster says to one of his wonderful associates, 86 him. That means kill him. It’s I think of it as a mob term. I don’t know if people think of it as something having to do with disappearing, but the mob uses that term to say, when they want to kill somebody, they say, 86 the son of a gun. I’m trying to keep the language nice and clear. They don’t use that term son of a gun. They use another term, but that’s a mob term for killing. Yeah.” Collins: “But do you really think your life was in danger? Because —” Trump: “Probably, I don’t know, you know, based on — based on what I’m seeing out there. Yeah.” Collins: “— the seashells?” Trump: “The — the people like Comey have created tremendous danger, I think, for politicians and others. You know, Comey is a dirty cop. He’s a very dirty cop. He cheated on the elections. He tried to help Hillary Clinton. As you know, he dismissed a lot of things that he should have proceeded with. I wasn’t involved, but he should have proceeded with, no, he’s a dirty cop. He’s a crooked man.”

Lulu Garcia-Navarro: “But it really didn’t occur to you that you could be fired after so many of your colleagues had been let go after you’d had this, you know, very contentious interaction with your new boss?” Scott Pelley: “You know, some reporter, I turned out to be. I just didn’t connect the dots. I mean, was this meeting contentious? Yes, but 60 Minutes is known for two things, a ticking stopwatch and hard questions. And we ask ourselves those hard questions in the shop because they sharpen us and make us better. There was a screening once with Mike Wallace and Mike and the executive producer and founder of 60 Minutes, Don Hewitt, got into a big argument about a script. Wallace jumps up in the middle of the screening, throws his script up in the air and yells at Don. Well, then you write the f’ing thing. One of those pieces of paper comes down and slices an associate producer across the face. He’s bleeding now. He’s got a paper cut on his face. That was about a story. The meeting that I was in was about whether 60 Minutes was going to even survive or not.” Garcia-Navarro: “So, you walk in, and what was the energy of the room?” Pelley: “Hostile, dismissive before I could take my seat. Tom Cibrowski said, this is a firing offense. I was confused. I wasn’t sure who he was talking about in the room, but it became plain very quickly that they were talking about me, and they were unhappy about the meeting that had occurred, a meeting that had ended in thunderous applause for me, if I may say so, because somebody had stood up for the broadcast.”

NBC's Matt Gorman on Graham Platner... "I think Susan Collins is going to beat him like a drum, and I believe that even before the story came out yesterday. I mean, you're right. This was an incredible story with, you know, abuse allegations and infidelity. Two of the other things I took away from it, besides he just seems to be a liar, is the fact that (a) his comments that he did not dispute about if someone broke into his apartment, he would quote, he would essentially rape them, and it was about dominance, not sex. Incredible. What an egregious, awful statement to make. And the other thing is, to Megan's point, it's a further confirmation past a CNN article a few weeks ago that he knew what the Nazi tattoo was and did not dispute that until he disputed it with Chris Hayes last night as well." "And I think part of the anger you get from some in the GOP is we remember folks like what Sheldon Whitehouse did during the Kavanaugh hearings when he went five questions deep on what 'boofing' was. And yesterday, when stopped in a hallway, he said the story was a lot of nothing. And so it's the -- a -- morality on someone like his part when we -- there's one standard when it was Kavanaugh in 2018 and quite another when it's Graham Platner." "Infidelity? I will not condone that. Whether it's Graham Platner or Ken Paxton. I haven't heard allegations Ken Paxton abusing women. I haven't heard Ken Paxton going on kik, which is, quote, called 'a paradise for child predators.' I won't excuse infidelity, but I'm also not going to draw a line between Graham Platner's abuse -- abuse allegations and what Ken Paxton did either."
