🚨UVA Center for Politics founder Larry Sabato names Nancy Pelosi "Defender of Democracy" and gives her a trophy "We’ll never forget how you acted on January 6, 2021, in helping to save our Democracy," said Sabato. "It could easily have gone the other way.” The "Defender of Democracy Award" is funded by "The Larry J. Sabato Foundation," and first given in 2022 "to honor individuals who strengthen democracy." The recipients were police officers at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. At an event earlier on 2/26, Pelosi noted to Sabato, "The Trump Regime has practically abolished Congress."
