𝗠𝟭𝟲 𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗟𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗠𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗜𝗡 𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗟𝗢 An M16 rifle suspected to have been used in a deadly trail of four murders across Isiolo and neighbouring Meru County has been recovered in an intelligence-led multi-agency operation in Isiolo. The firearm, loaded with five rounds of 5.56×45mm ammunition, was recovered at Kakili area in Burat Location by a joint team of police officers from Isiolo County, National Police Reservists (NPRs) and National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs). Acting on actionable intelligence, the team recovered the M16 rifle, believed to be linked to notorious bandit Aloise Lochuchu alias “Akoo,” who was recently charged with robbery with violence. The recovery has opened a can of worms, with detectives now probing the firearm’s suspected links to four separate murder cases. The cases include: January 26, 2025: Murder at Maili Tatu in Meru County; July 20, 2025: Murder of a businesswoman within Isiolo town CBD; December 24, 2025: Murder at Sakama Bar in Isiolo town, and February 18, 2026: Murder of a deputy principal at Leparua, Isiolo North Sub-County. The recovery is a breakthrough, giving detectives a crucial piece of the puzzle as they work to establish the firearm’s role in the four killings and determine whether it may have been used in other crimes. The rifle has been secured at the Isiolo Police Station armoury and will be forwarded to the National Forensic Laboratory for ballistic examination. 𝗞𝗘𝗡𝗬𝗔 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗜𝗠 𝗔𝗧 𝗚𝗟𝗢𝗕𝗔𝗟 𝗜𝗣𝗦𝗖 𝗚𝗟𝗢𝗥𝗬 The Kenyan flag is set to fly high on two international shooting ranges this month, with four of the country’s finest International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) athletes ready to lock horns with the world’s best in the Philippines and Aruba. Kenya’s growing footprint in IPSC sport shooting is gaining momentum, with the country’s shooters stepping onto the international stage at two major championships that promise to showcase the depth, skill, and competitive spirit of Kenyan talent. Leading Kenya’s charge in the Philippines is Charles Mugendi of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), who departed the country on August 12 to compete in the IPSC Level III Metroshoot Championship. Mugendi is already in intensive preparations, training alongside some of the sport’s top international competitors, including Filipino shooter Bro Techson. The high-level training is sharpening his competitive edge as he prepares to go head-to-head with some of the world’s leading IPSC athletes. For Mugendi, it is more than just another competition. It is an opportunity to put Kenya’s name on the global shooting map and prove that Kenyan shooters can hold their own against the very best. Across the waters in Aruba, Kenya Police Service shooters Peter Kivelete Muli and Aden Mohamed, alongside Jim Wood, will carry the Kenyan flag at the prestigious IPSC Pan American Championship Level IV. All eyes will particularly be on Aden Mohamed, who will compete in the Optics Division, one of the relatively new divisions in IPSC competition. His participation offers Kenya an important opportunity to establish an even stronger foothold in this emerging discipline and test its mettle against elite international competition. The international assignments come at an important time for Kenya’s sport-shooting programme, which continues to grow in strength and competitiveness. The exposure gained from these championships will be invaluable as Kenya sharpens its preparations and reorganises its programme ahead of the Africa Sport Shooting Championship to be held in Zimbabwe in 2027. The National Police Service (NPS) continues to nurture and support sporting talent among its officers, allowing them to excel both in service to the nation and on the international sporting stage. The international exploits of Peter Kivelete Muli, Aden Mohamed and Charles Mugendi are a powerful demonstration of the calibre of talent within the Service, and a reminder that Kenya’s uniformed officers are capable of competing and excelling far beyond the conventional boundaries of their duties. Special appreciation goes to Mr. Frank Abundo, IPSC Regional Director Kenya, whose leadership and commitment have played an important role in advancing IPSC sport shooting in Kenya, and Team Manager Mr. Sanford Otundo, for his role in supporting the team’s international engagements. DREAMS CUT SHORT AS DCI HALTS BOGUS GRADUATION IN CHANGAMWE A team of detectives from the DCI Headquarters’ Serious Crime Unit (SCU), working hand in glove with officers from the Commission for University Education (CUE), yesterday brought the curtain down on a graduation ceremony organised by an unaccredited institution at Victory International Church, Changamwe, Mombasa County. Acting on intelligence reports of an illegal graduation in progress, the officers made their way to the venue and found the ceremony already underway, caps in the air, dreams in motion, before swiftly stopping it. When put to task, the organisers, directors and officials of Menorah Training Institute and Dominion Mission Theological University Global (based in Ghana), were unable to produce the mandatory accreditation documents from CUE, leaving their academic claims hanging by a thread. Preliminary investigations established that Menorah Training Institute is duly registered with Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) to offer courses only up to diploma level. However, a closer look at the graduation list raised more red flags. Shockingly, five (5) individuals were listed as graduating with master’s degrees, while seventeen (17) others were set to receive degree certificates, qualifications the institution is neither licensed nor authorised to award. Consequently, the following officials were arrested: Daniel Dela (President), John Kibet, Philomena Milano, Ann Ogola Owiti (board members), alongside Jason Oduor and Michael Ochieng. They are currently in custody, undergoing processing pending arraignment. As investigations continue, Kenyans are urged to remain vigilant and verify the accreditation status of institutions before enrolling, because when it comes to education, shortcuts often lead to dead ends. #FichuaKwaDCI. BEWARE: THE BABE NEXT TABLE MIGHT BE YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE As the festive season gains traction, members of the public, especially those flocking various drinking joints are encouraged to remain alert as not every reveller is up to something good. Cases of drugging by way of spiking frothy waters are on the rise as captured on the footage below, where a stupefied holidaymaker lost valuables to a pishori babe at a Diani hotel. It happened that after a night of merry making, the reveller who was on a job related assignment decided to visit a popular joint where, after he had enough for the day, left for his hotel room in the company of the damsel he had met at the joint. In the clip, the lady is captured leaving the hotel room some minutes before noon, having stolen two mobile phones, a watch and ATM cards of the helpless victim. The following day, the daughter of Jezebel swept clean the bank accounts of the victim, before switching off his phones. Detectives are doing the Lord's work by pursuing the lady to ensure that she accounts for her bad manners.

The Acting Inspector General of the National Police Service Mr Gilbert Masengeli has today visited the National Police Service Stand at the Mombasa International Show. While interracting with the exhibitors, Mr Masengeli expressed his satisfaction with the level of preparedness and encouraged all exhibitors to maintain a high level of competence as they execute their mandate at the exhibition. The acting Inspector General has also assured members of the public attending the show of their security and that of the country at large. He further reiterated the commitment of the National Police Service towards provision of policing services that support agriculture and trade initiatives for sustainable economic growth. LIBERTY, A SLIPPERY FLOOR FOR JAILBIRD IN NAROK MURDERS Stephen Oloichoki alias Musa Sopia, the prime suspect in a series of violent robberies and murders within Narok township has been arrested, again, following months of scrupulous manhunt by Narok-based detectives. The suspect, who is a jailbird and has been in prison confines for 15 years until his release on March 2024, was cornered and arrested while in possession of his weapons of choice; a dagger, a sword and a Maasai rungu. In the incidents that rocked the area days following his release, a hooded lone thug was reported to be accosting business operators in the town, before striking them down with a blunt object and disappearing with their valuables. Sadly, most victims succumbed to the head hits. But by the stroke of luck, one of the suspect's criminal activities was captured by a CCTV camera as he attempted to break into a shop. He aborted the mission on spotting the cameras, but not without blessing his night with several crates of bread delivered to the next shop. The footage was circulated among security agents. On Monday, October 28 at around midnight, a report was made that a person had been struck dead at Ololulunga area in Narok South. Coincidentally, it was at the same location where the cctv footage had been obtained. A security operation was swiftly launched which saw Oloichoki arrested. He was in the same clothes worn in the cctv footage. (His race was no longer amazing). The suspect has since confessed to several attacks and showed investigators places where he sold the valuables stolen from his victims, leading to the arrest of three more suspects namely; Timothy Manyara, Samuel Kibutu Ngongo and John Ndung'u Wanjiru. It has also been established that Oloichoki had been handed a life sentence for a violent robbery by the Narok court in 2009, only to be released 15 years later in March this year after an appeal. Even so, his previous life in crime quickly caught up with him. Under investigations are six deaths in which Oloichoki is implicated, all committed between April and October, 2024. Appropriate charges including robbery with violence have been preferred against him at Narok Law Courts.

HOUSE HELP NABBED IN DARING THEFT FROM EMPLOYER Detectives from DCI Nairobi Region Headquarters augmented by their Dagoretti counterparts have arrested Rita Akinyi Yohana, a house help who went on the run after pulling off a bold theft from her employer. The incident which was reported on March 11, 2025 at Spring Valley Police Station, reveals a tale of betrayal from a trusted employee of 15 months, believed to have stolen a safe brimming with valuable items including family passports, foreign national IDs, 4,000 US dollars, gold coins, Diwali statues, a pen drive, a hard disk, bank locker keys, perfumes and other belongings. Upon visiting the crime scene, detectives discovered that the safe previously secured with screws in a wardrobe had been expertly unscrewed and stolen. Through forensic-led intelligence, Akinyi was smoked out of her hideout in Kawangware's bustling Congo Maumau area, bringing the chase to an end. A search of her residence uncovered a trove of stolen items, including 29 one-hundred-dollar notes, assorted Indian Rupees, perfumes, and women’s purses all traced back to her employer. Further, Akinyi confessed to discarding the ransacked safe in the murky depths of River Maumau. With help from local divers, detectives managed to retrieve the safe from the riverbed only to find it emptied of its contents. Akinyi is currently in police custody undergoing processing pending arraignment. Meanwhile, the recovered items are securely preserved as exhibits.
