CAUGHT IN THE ACT As back to school preparations... take shape, DCI detectives have heightened surveillance measures that are geared towards fighting ploliferation of counterfeit books in the country. In an intelligence-led operation, a team of detectives drawn from DCI Headquarters and DCI Central, Nairobi have arrested two individuals namely Christopher Muthini Musyoki and Eugine Asunda at Soko plus building, store number A36 along Ronald Ngara street while printing Four Figure Mathematical Tables Covers. The detectives went further and traced the owner of the store and the printing machine namely Jeremiah Esikumo Opati who disclosed that he had been contracted by Muyela Aluta Samuel who was also traced and arrested. Further, it was established that Muyela runs a printing store number 9 situated at Rahu house basement along Mfangano Street where upon search, a printing machine and Four Figure Mathematical Table templates were recovered. Upon extensive interrogation, he also led the detectives to his other shop located at Manshram Mansion building room 28 along the same street where over one thousand copies of Four Figure Mathematical Tables without covers were recovered. All the scenes were documented and the suspects detained pending arraignment.show more

Motorcycles Stolen in Ado-Ekiti Recovered in Owo, Ondo state... After Owner Tracks Down One of the Bikes. A motorcycle stolen in Ado Ekiti this morning was recovered in Owo, Ondo State, after the owner tracked it using a built-in location device, leading police to arrest some suspects while also recovering four stolen bikes in the process. According to an eyewitness, the bike belonging to a young man in Ado Ekiti was noticed missing around 6:00 a.m. today from a fenced compound in Falegan area of Ado Ekiti. The owner in turn activated the tracker and traced the motorcycle to Benin Garage in Akure. Tracking the signal further, the device pointed to a residence in Shasha area along Owo Road in Akure by 9:00 a.m. Upon getting the exact location of the stolen bike, The owner immediately reported the location to police, who proceeded to the address with him. At the scene, the police officers detained the landlord and the tenant occupying the room where the tracker indicated while a search of the locked room uncovered four motorcycles, including three with Ekiti registration plates and one with an Ondo plate. Two of the Ekiti bikes were identified as TUN-426QB and TUN-901QB. The third Ekiti plate number has not yet been confirmed. During the search, officers also found a locally made soap in the room. The intended use of the item remains unclear as of the time of filing this report. The arrested suspects were immediately taken into custody for further investigation and interrogation. The incident has renewed calls for motorcycle owners in Ekiti to install location trackers, amid a recent rise in reports of bike and vehicle thefts in the state. In the 1800s, Scottish surgeon Robert Liston became infamous... for a surgery that led to an astonishing 300% mortality rate, losing his patient to infection, accidentally amputating his assistant's fingers, who also died of infection, and slashing a spectator who died from heart attack. While amputating another patient's leg, he broke his personal record by finishing the surgery in two and a half minutes. However, in the interest of speed, he chopped off the patient's testicles along with his leg. He also once mistook a lump in a young boy's neck for a skin tag and removed it suddenly at the boys home. The lump turned out to be an aneurysm of his carotid artery, and the boy died. Keep in mind that in those times there was no anesthesia and that speed and cleanliness were the only skills. Known as "the fastest knife on West End," Robert Liston was particularly skilled at quick amputations. “One of the most complicated hostage rescue missions in... history.” The operation to rescue the hostages from Nusayrat was named "Summer Seeds" and is defined by the IDF as one of the most complex ever for hostage rescue. The hostages were held in a heavily civilian populated area, above ground, in buildings of 3-4 stories. The forces stormed the two separate targets where the hostages were held, with Noa held on the first floor and Andrey, Shlomi, and Almog on the third floor of another building, hundreds of meters apart. Hamas moved the four hostages from apartment to apartment, and the concern was that if the forces only stormed one building, the terrorists would escape with the hostages in the second building. The Air Force gathered intelligence from the air in the last few days, and the IDF and Shin Bet created conditions to reach the targets without the terrorists shooting the hostages first, which was key to the operation's success. The models built by the Yamam (Israel's counter-terrorism unit) reminded senior military officials of the models established for the Entebbe operation, with buildings, streets, and small areas for practice. The main problem was in the apartment where Andrey, Almog, and Shlomi were held, and where Yamam fighter Arnon Zamora was killed. The rescue took place under heavy fire, and during the disengagement, dozens of terrorists with RPGs and machine guns ran through the alleys towards the targets. As a result, uninvolved Gazan civilians were also killed in the dense fire exchange. The military said, "The difference between success and failure in such an operation is a hair's breadth, and we relied on exceptional technology from the Intelligence and Shin Bet. Without ground activity and maneuvering in the Gazan area, it would not have been possible to succeed in such operations." The IDF also noted that the rescue was made possible by Commander Zamora's heroism. "Shin Bet and Intelligence Directorate fighters entered the lion's den in the refugee camp and dismantled houses in areas where we hadn't maneuvered," they said. "This is bravery on the level of Judah Maccabee. The operation was planned for weeks with drills, rescue plans, and fires executed, alongside scenarios of cases and responses." The forces simultaneously broke into the two houses with special weapons developed for the operation. Immediately after extracting the hostages, the forces began to withdraw while fighting dozens of terrorists, but a vehicle with the three hostages got stuck and came under heavy fire. Division 98 forces jumped in to assist in the vehicle rescue battle, and rescue helicopters entered deep into the strip in daylight. Three brigades participated in the rescue battle, during which Zamora was also evacuated to the hospital: Brigade 7, Paratroopers, and Kfir with Flotilla 13, along with other special forces. "The fire plan that was executed was focused but extremely powerful," the IDF added. "The cooperation with Shin Bet and Yamam rose to several levels into a single operational system, under the direction of the Shin Bet chief and the Chief of Staff. Four keys to the operation: deception, surprise, determination, and power." To maintain the secrecy of the operation, thousands of soldiers in the brigades that participated in the rescue were unaware of the nature of the operation before it happened to preserve the element of surprise. Only a handful of commanders were exposed to the operation yesterday, at various levels. These forces were positioned at the correct launch points without revealing the secret. Ashok Dudhe says: "Information was received by Pawan Bansod, DCP (Zone 2), that certain individuals were coming to Bhiwandi today to sell the question papers intended for the TET exam scheduled in Maharashtra tomorrow. He assembled a team and laid a trap, resulting in his team detaining three individuals in the Kongaon area. Upon searching them, mobile phones, debit cards, credit cards, and cash were recovered; additionally, four TET question papers, intended for use tomorrow, were seized from their possession. These papers were verified by senior officers from the Education Department, who confirmed they were indeed the actual papers scheduled for the exam. Consequently, the three individuals were taken into custody, a formal case was registered, and the 'panchnama' was drawn up. Further investigation is currently underway. Given the serious nature of this offense, we have constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The team includes DCP (Zone 2) Pawan Bansod, along with two ACPs, senior Police Inspectors (PI), Assistant Police Inspectors (API), Police Sub-Inspectors (PSI), and other personnel. Devastating scenes near First Street tonight as an iconic... piece of Manchester’s history, The Hotspur Press building, has gone up in flames. Built on Gloucester Street by the banks of the River Medlock, it was thought to be Manchester’s oldest surviving mill. Originally a cotton mill known as Medlock Mill - itself a casualty of fire in 1801 - it was rebuilt and later purchased in 1902 by the Percy Brothers who turned it into a printing press responsible for publishing periodicals, classic film magazines and comics of the era. It was later home to a number of Manchester based artist studios for around a decade. After closure, due to leaks and safety issues in 2017, it sat empty until a planning application to regenerate Hotspur Press was unanimously approved by Manchester City Council in May 2024. However, it was subsequently delayed following an application to list the building and the redevelopment was paused while new plans were drawn up. Tonight, neighbouring flats have been evacuated and 20 fire engines from across Greater Manchester have been battling the blaze at the scene, with multiple jets and the air unit in use to prevent the spread of the fire. Train services through Oxford Road Station have been suspended overnight, as well as several streets closed in the surrounding area. In images and footage the building looks to have been completely gutted, but thankfully no injuries or casualties have been announced so far.show more

New York mother & son arrested for trying to... flee the country following a street racing crash that left one person deceased. Vilma Vneshta & son Alvi Limani were detained in Miami while trying to leave the country after Limani was charged with aggravated manslaught*r. According to Middlesex County Prosecutors’ Office, Limani and a friend were street racing when the BMW M5 hit two cars and rolled over. Two passengers in the car with Limani were thrown out of the vehicle. 20-year-old Albion Hysenaj was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The other passenger, who was thrown, survived. Limani fled the scene with 19-year-old Emily Harrington, according to prosecutors. The son and Vneshta have since been extradited to New Jersey and are now in custody at Middlesex County Correctional Facility.show more

You can see the border patrol agents parked across the street in front of the place where they were going to arrest the criminal illegal alien and coming out of their cars. You can then see the two women go right towards the agent who was by his car and stand in front of him obstructing an active operation. It can't be seen in this video but we know from other videos that the guy went across the street to the area where the agents were. The two women and the guy all inserted themselves in an active operation. This is dangerous for officers and for the public. These officers have only a few minutes to get in there, execute the warrant, arrest the illegal alien (who may be armed since he is a criminal) and pull him out into their car. These people are going after these officers with loud whistles, blocking traffic, confronting them. The people out there applauding this behavior, saying that it is citizens' right to do that, or instigating it are putting civilians in danger.show more

Woman Stabbed In Huddersfield, Four Teenage Boys Arrested. A... young mother is fighting for her life in hospital after being stabbed and beaten in a horrifying daylight attack in Huddersfield. The 30 year old woman suffered serious stab wounds and devastating head and neck injuries when she was attacked in Topaz Close on Monday, May 11. West Yorkshire Police said the victim was left badly injured at the scene in what officers are treating as an attempted murder. Yesterday, Saturday 16 May, officers arrested four local teenage boys in a series of raids. A 17 year old boy from Huddersfield has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Three other teenagers, aged 18, 17 and 16, all from Huddersfield, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All four remain in custody. Kirklees CID detectives have described the assault as extremely serious and are still appealing for witnesses who may witnessed the assault. A police spokesman said: "We are continuing to investigate this dreadful incident. A woman was stabbed and sustained serious head and neck injuries. She remains in hospital where her condition is described as serious." Detectives are urging anyone with information, CCTV, doorbell footage or dashcam video from the area around Topaz Close on the afternoon of Monday 11 May to come forward immediately. The four teenagers in custody have not yet been charged. The victim remains remains in hospital in a critical condition. The name of the joint IDF, Shin Bet, and... police operation to rescue the four hostages from the Gaza Strip is "Seeds of Summer." At 11:00 a.m. the order was given to the Yamam and Shin Bet officers to raid two multi-story buildings in central Gaza's Nuseirat, where Hamas was holding hostages Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv. The buildings were about 200 meters apart, and the decision to go for both simultaneously, and not just one of the sites, was due to the possibility that Hamas may murder the hostages after identifying the rescue operation. Argamani was held by Hamas guards alone in the home of a Palestinian family, while the other three hostages were held at a separate home. According to the IDF, Hamas pays such families to hold the hostages in their homes. At the home where Meir Jan, Kozlov, and Ziv were held, a major gun battle erupted, during which Yamam officer Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora, the commander of the rescue team at the second building, was critically wounded by Hamas fire. As the three hostages and Zamora were being extracted, their vehicle came under fire, leading it to get stuck. Other forces quickly reached the scene to rescue them, bringing them to a makeshift helipad in Gaza. There was a large amount of gunfire and RPG fire on the rescue forces amid the operation, leading the ground troops and the Air Force to carry out major strikes in the area to protect themselves and the rescued hostages. The IDF acknowledges that it killed many Palestinian civilians amid the fighting, although it places the blame on Hamas for holding hostages in a civilian environment. Hamas operatives also fired anti-aircraft missiles at Israeli helicopters over the area amid the operation, without success.show more

Missing #Indian Student Found Dead in #Finland; Body Recovered... from Sea The body of an Indian student, #Manideep, who had been missing since early May, has been recovered from the sea in Finland. Manideep’s parents in #Hyderabad were waiting for the update about his whereabouts since last few weeks. Authorities confirmed that the body, found during a search operation on July 9, 2026, along the Kruunuvuorenranta shoreline, has been identified as that of the missing Indian student. Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation is examining the cause of death. However, investigators have stated that there is no suspicion of foul play or any criminal offence in the case at this stage. Officials said the investigation is ongoing and that no further details will be released for now. The discovery of Manideep’s body has brought a tragic end to the search that began after he went missing in early May.show more

The rest of the body was lying next to the bed in the bedroom. Several packets of incense were recovered right beside the fridge. Police also seized a dao and several liquor bottles from the room. Killing his wife was not enough for Ramanuj Goswami. He sat beside the body and drank. On Saturday, during the day, he cooked rice and ate it next to his wife’s blood soaked body. He spent an entire day beside the beheaded corpse. The police investigation has also revealed that he had even planned to feed pieces of the body to dogs. Ramanuj has admitted to police that he smashed and destroyed both his own mobile phone and his wife’s. It has also emerged that on the day of the incident he got his hair cut and coloured at a salon. Ramanuj was also a drug addict. He had earlier spent nearly three months at a rehabilitation centre. This was not his first arrest. In 2019, during the lockdown, Ramanuj Goswami was arrested in an ATM theft case in Gauripur. His mother has been unable to accept what her son has done. She said it was unbelievable, that he shows respect even to strangers on the street, and that her son could never commit such a monstrous act. Riya Talukdar has an elder brother. According to Ramanuj’s mother, the brother does not live in Assam. The couple had not even completed a year of marriage. Riya, from Noonmati, and Ramanuj, from Gauripur, had begun their new life together this year. Before the wedding Ramanuj worked at a private firm. After marriage they moved into “Anjali Griha” in Bashishtapur, Beltola. Riya worked at a boutique in Fancy Bazar. Ramanuj had bought a new car and started driving for Uber and Rapido in Guwahati. Neighbours say there were violent quarrels between the two. Disagreements were frequent. On Saturday, neighbours heard the sounds of a terrible commotion. Cries drifted out from inside the house that day. The only voice the neighbours could hear was Ramanuj Goswami’s. Once the body began to smell, Ramanuj abandoned the house and fled. When police arrived, the flat door had not been latched. He had left it pressed shut with a sock wedged in place. He had already surrendered to Dispur police at Ganeshguri on Sunday night, and Hatigaon police have since taken custody and are continuing the interrogation. Parts of Riya’s body, in two polythene bundles, were sent to GMCH and the necessary procedures were completed. A 22-year-old woman, an IIT graduate and the daughter... of a senior bureaucrat, was found dead at her home in southeast Delhi's East of Kailash area. Police said she was raped before being strangled to death with a phone charger. She was alone at home at the time of the incident. There were no signs of forced entry. Police have arrested a 19-year-old domestic help, Rahul, who had worked at the house and was dismissed over a month ago. "Investigations revealed that he used to play online games and would borrow money from other servants in the vicinity, or from domestic staff working in nearby households, without ever repaying them. This is why he was fired," Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said. He was arrested from a hotel in the Dwarka area, where he had been hiding. He is being charged with rape, murder and robbery, police said. Rahul was seen in CCTV footage leaving the victim's residence at 6:28 am, police said. According to police, the woman was found by her family members inside the house under suspicious circumstances, after which the authorities were alerted. The victim had completed her schooling at DPS RK Puram and later graduated from IIT Delhi. She was preparing for the UPSC examination. She was also a dancer and had won several awards in dance competitions. Her elder brother holds a senior position in a multinational company, and her mother is a doctor. When police reached Rahul's residence in Alwar, they found that he had previously been involved in a sexual harassment case. Police said the accused arrived in Delhi from Alwar the previous night and is suspected to have entered the house using a spare key. Police said Rahul had been hired with a reference from a superintendent posted at the IRS officer's office.show more

Woman Arrested After Four Men Stabbed In Random Scissors... Rampage In Covent Garden. The shocking incident took place just after 12.30pm today in Endell Street, Covent Garden, steps away from restaurants, shops and the West End, sending terrified members of the public fleeing as emergency services raced to the scene. Police say the suspect, a 47-year-old woman, was detained on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon after officers recovered what they believe were the scissors used in the attack. The victims, men aged 34, 39, 42 and 52, all suffered stab wounds and were taken to a major trauma centre. Two have since been discharged, while the remaining two continue to receive hospital treatment. Thankfully, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Witnesses described scenes of panic as one bloodied victim reportedly staggered into a nearby barber’s shop desperately seeking help after suffering a wound to his back. Businesses hurriedly shut their doors while police threw up a large cordon across the area and London’s Air Ambulance joined the emergency response. The Metropolitan Police have stressed they believe the attack was an isolated incident, with early indications suggesting it was linked to the suspect’s mental health. Officers say there is currently no evidence that the victims were specifically targeted and believe they were attacked at random. The investigation remains ongoing. Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart said officers arrived within minutes of receiving multiple emergency calls and moved quickly to bring the incident under control. Detectives continue to examine CCTV, speak to witnesses and establish exactly how the terrifying sequence of events unfolded. All the material was escorted by the SAPS under lock and key The three women and the driver were questioned by the SAPS and statements were obtained from them to account for being found in possession of voting material All exhibits were entered into the SAP 13 Register and no arrests were made in the view that the SAPS had about 48 hours to investigate On Sunday 26 -05 -2024 around 01-00 another report of voting material was reported on a funeral pallor in Rd 1 Chesterville The SAPS was also dispatched and sealed boxes of directions were seized , one person was taken in for questioning by the police The IEC material was seized by the police It is concerning that too many reports of election rigging are prevalent this time. [ONE KILLED AND ANOTHER INJURED BY A MOB IN... A STOCKTHEFT RELATED INCIDENT] Police at Verena are investigating a stock theft related incident whereby two male persons were reportedly cornered and assaulted by an unidentified group of people after being reportedly found with livestock believed to have been stolen. One of the alleged suspects died whilst the other one sustained some injuries. The incident occurred in Verena on Wednesday, 24 December 2024. According to a report, Police as well Medical Emergency Services were called to the scene, and it was during this period when one of the men was pronounced dead, while the other was taken to the hospital for treatment. He is currently hospitalized under Police guard. The incident is believed to be linked to stocktheft incident, where 26 cattle, six goats, and a donkey were reportedly stolen from a certain farm in Verena. The Police investigation indicates that a shepherd was attacked earlier that day then robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. Thereafter, the suspects are believed to have fled the scene in two bakkies with trailers when their vehicles got stuck in the mud, leading to their capture and attack by the mob. In one of the #Bengaluru's biggest heists, domestic staff... allegedly decamped with gold, diamond and silver jewellery worth an estimated Rs 18 crore from a builder's residence at ASK Lake Garden on #Kempapura Main Road in #Yamaluru recently. The accused are a Nepalese couple identified as Dinesh (32) and his wife Kamala (25). According to the complaint filed by Shimanth S Arjun (28), a businessman, the theft occurred between 9 am and 12.30 pm on January 25. Arjun, son of MR Shivakumar, told #MarathahalliPolice that his family has been residing in the house for the past 19 years. His father Shivakumar, a builder, was out of town for work at the time of the incident. Dinesh and Kamala had joined as housekeepers about 20 days ago through acquaintances identified as Vikash and Maya Vishu. They were employed at the house along with cooks Siddharama and Ambika. On January 25, at around 9 am, the complainant, along with his wife and mother, left the house to attend his wife's land worship ceremony at H Cross on Hoskote-Chintamani Road. At around 12.38 pm the same day, Arjun received a call from the cook Ambika, who alerted him that cupboard locks had been broken and valuables stolen, allegedly by Dinesh and Kamala with the help of others. When the family rushed back, they found that a locker in the ground-floor bedroom had been broken open using an iron bar, with about 10 kg of gold and diamond ornaments stolen. Another locker in the first-floor bedroom was also found broken, from which around 1.5 kg of gold ornaments, about 5 kg of silver jewellery and Rs 11.5 lakh in cash were missing. In all, gold, diamond and silver ornaments and cash worth approximately Rs 18 crore were reported stolen. The complainant alleged that the couple had closely observed the movements of family members in advance. Police have registered a case under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master). Efforts are on to nab the absconding couple. A senior police officer said the suspects had disconnected the power supply to disable CCTV cameras. The complainant further told police that the couple were replacements for regular domestic staff Vikash and Maya and had agreed to work for a monthly salary of Rs 27,000.
