I had a dream last night that I was building a local beef processing facility to sell at scale to my local community. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. As it is now, there are thousands of head of cattle in my county. The vast majority are shipped by 18-wheelers to the Midwest, fed out, then processed and shipped back to us as a part of the national supply chain. I know we could produce a much better product at a competitive price by keeping everything close to home. It’s just a huge endeavor that would require investment and some help from the administration. But it is possible.

Girls wanted to make their own lip balm so we rendered 25 lbs of tallow and got a few lbs of beeswax from a neighbor. Will add vitamin e and essential oils. Maybe we need something for color? Will report results.

Kind of over politics. Too depressing. Might just stick with surf, farm, guns & healthy living poasting.

this one steer loves to do the exact opposite of whatever you need him to do. Every little thing is a fight... Counting down to his butcher date tbh.

The tallow balm turned out great. Just tallow, bees wax, jojoba oil and vitamin e. 30 lbs is probably a bit over overkill 😂... Oh well, will make good gifts.
