A quick blast of THE PRISONER finale 'Fall Out' (1968) as shown on Channel 4 January 1993--including ad break #2. Is this broadcast direct from a film print, or is '93 too late for that? There are reel change markers before the bumper.

Harry H Corbett, Wilfrid Brambell reunited one last time, in late 1980, for a Kenco coffee TV ad. Why the Steptoes are now rich remains a mystery. Did they discover a valuable timepiece amongst the junk? 😉 With Annie Lambert as Abigail. I wonder who directed this? #SteptoeAndSon

#TheNewAvengers: 'Sleeper' (1976) Most of Inner London is asleep, thanks to an experimental nerve gas. Purdey tries to evade the looters by posing as a shop window dummy. Joanna Lumley displaying her comedy chops to great effect.😊 Cracking episode. Quintessential Avengers.

PORRIDGE (1979) Introduction to 'genial' Harry Grout (Peter Vaughan), the Godfather of Slade Prison. Fletcher (Ronnie Barker) has almost become a moral character by the film, saving naive young inmate Rudge (Daniel Peacock) from a thumping.

#ThePrisoner: 'The Girl Who Was Death' w. Terence Feely d. David Tomblin Number Six (Patrick McGoohan) meets a girl (Justine Lord) who believes they were made for each other: he is a born survivor, she is a born killer! Penultimate ep filmed; the ultimate in end-of-term ITC fun.

#TheAvengers: 'The Hour That Never Was' (1965) w. Roger Marshall d. Gerry O'Hara Steed... Mrs Peel... a deserted airfield. In black and white. TV heaven as far as I'm concerned. 😊 First saw this ep in Jan 1985. It was love at first sight.

TUCKER'S LUCK Series 1 Ep 3 w. Barry Purchese BBC2 Thu 24 Mar 1983 @ 6pm Tommy (Paul McCarthy) tries to instruct Alan (George Armstrong) in chatting up girls, but only succeeds in making him look a prat in front of Susi McMahon (a cameo by #GrangeHill's Linda Slater). 😬

#TheNewAvengers: 'Target!' (1976) Purdey on the coolest target range ever. 🎯 Joanna Lumley being very game here. This episode is so well directed it landed Ray Austin a contract with US television. He worked there nonstop for the next 20 years.

TRIPPER'S DAY Thames Television Written by Brian Cooke Leonard Rossiter in his last screen role: Norman Tripper, autocratic supermarket manager. Pilot-'Special Offers', ITV Mon 24 Sep 1984 @ 8pm. Bruce Forsyth is namechecked here--he took over the series after Rossiter's death.

BBC celebrated Golden Anniversary of its television service in 1986. "That's Television Entertainment" on BBC1 Sat 01 Nov '86 contained this medley of clips from #DoctorWho. Bear in mind we couldn't watch vast majority of these episodes at the time.

LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE: 'The Loxley Lozenge' (BBC1 30.12.1984) This scene is edited on DVD. Ep was called into service as a Christmas Special, and since Crusher a.k.a. Milburn (Jonathan Linsley) wasn't yet introduced his scenes were cut. First repeat, on 14.4.1985, was intact.

BIG DEAL BBC1 1984-86 Devised by Geoff McQueen Robby Box (Ray Brooks) makes his living playing poker. Some people say he's got it made, but his girlfriend Jan (Sharon Duce) isn't one of them. Opening titles designed by Roger Ferrin. Theme song written, performed by Bobby Gubby.
