Honouring a Lifetime of Service to India's National Security! Glad to be present at the conferring of the 'Lokmanya Tilak National Award 2026' upon NSA Ajit Doval ji by Hon Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amitbhai Shah in Pune today. 20-Year-Old Issue Resolved - Maharashtra to get 10 TMC of Narmada Water Attended a meeting chaired by Hon Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amitbhai Shah, along with Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav ji, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel ji, Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma ji and Union Minister C. R. Patil ji, where a historic consensus was reached on the Narmada project. Maharashtra will now receive 10 TMC of water, as Gujarat agrees to provide 5 TMC through the Narmada–Tapi Diversion and 5 TMC from the Ukai Project. This landmark decision will significantly benefit Nandurbar and North Maharashtra region. Also significantly Maharashtra's financial liability has been reduced to just ₹27 crore only, while all remaining dues and long-pending inter-state disputes have been resolved. Honouring the Enduring Legacy of Sahityaratna Lokshahir AnnaBhau Sathe Glad to be present at the bhoomipujan and stone plaque unveiling of the 'Sahityaratna Lokshahir Anna Bhau Sathe Research and Training Institute' being developed by the Slum Rehabilitation Authority, Brihanmumbai, along with DCM Eknath Shinde ji. The construction of a grand memorial for Sahityaratna Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe gained momentum in 2024. The project was entrusted to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), with a commitment to ensuring the proper rehabilitation of every resident. We are determined to complete the memorial by 2029 and it will be inaugurated by Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji. Lokshahir Anna Bhau Sathe made extraordinary contributions to India's freedom struggle, the Goa Liberation Movement and the Sanyukta Maharashtra Movement. Through his literature, he gave voice to the marginalised and working class, inspiring generations with his courage, conviction and commitment to social justice. His literary legacy transcended borders, earning global recognition, including the installation of his statue in Russia. The Research and Training Institute being established as part of this memorial will empower the youth of the community and help them become active participants in Maharashtra's development journey. The work on the grand memorial of Adya Krantiguru Krantiveer Lahuji Vastad Salve in Pune is progressing steadily, with nearly 65% of the project already completed and we remain committed to completing it at the earliest. Maharashtra’s Mission for Tiger Conservation and Environmental Sustainability Glad to be present at the event organised on the occasion of 'International Tiger Day 2026' in Nagpur today. For more than 30 years, tiger conservation has been one of our highest priorities. Tigers are found in only 13 countries and India is home to nearly 75% of the world's tiger population. Maharashtra has also done exceedingly well in tiger conservation and is home to 444 tigers across 6 tiger reserves today. This success is the result of continuous efforts by the government in protecting natural habitats, adopting scientific conservation practices and working closely with local communities. With our five-point conservation strategy and the collective efforts of all stakeholders, Maharashtra will continue to strengthen its conservation work and soon emerge as the leading state in tiger conservation. Congratulations to the Forest Department for its dedicated efforts. It is encouraging to see technology strengthening conservation, with AI-based early warning systems and camera monitoring helping reduce human-wildlife conflict, particularly in districts such as Nagpur. As the world faces climate change and growing environmental challenges, protecting our forests has never been more important.
