🚨 TRANSFER PORTAL WARNING FOR COLLEGE SOCCER PLAYERS If you are thinking about transferring, there is one piece of advice I cannot stress enough: KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. Keep your head down. Work hard. Focus on your team. Fight for playing time. Be the best teammate you can possibly be. And most importantly, DO NOT TALK ABOUT TRANSFERRING. Don’t tell teammates you’re thinking about leaving. Don’t get involved in transfer conversations with other players. Don’t start talking about which schools you might want to go to. Don’t assume that because you’re talking to a teammate, it will stay between the two of you. You have no idea who will hear what you say. When you eventually enter the transfer portal, you are going to want college coaches to look at you and think: “That’s a player I want on my team.” You do not want a future coach hearing that you were unhappy, talking about leaving, recruiting other players to leave, or already looking for your next school while your current season was still going on.
