I know my reputation on here is dangerously close to solely being hyping up terrible movies and saying they're better than new movies because they're too gray but... I like this famously terrible movie and think it's better than all the new gray slop.

Must have seen Who Framed Roger Rabbit dozens of times and never noticed the shimmering red glow from Jessica’s dress on Hoskins’ face. That movie is a miracle.

Genuinely think there's a correlation between how much somebody's willing to get beat up in a horror movie and how successful they'll be in the industry. Could tell Samara Weaving was gonna be a star after Ash vs. Evil Dead.

There's a 78 second shot in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre of Franklin struggling to get into the house while his friends are all having fun upstairs where you can see his frustration and isolation turn his sadness into anger and I think it's the most important shot of the film

Over-the-top delivery, but with total conviction and authenticity. A lot of people don’t understand that the latter is necessary for good “camp”

Can't stress enough that the extremely rewatchable slasher movies that became classics did so, in large part, because their locations were so well established, thus creating an environment audiences want to come back to. Shots were wider with a bunch of mini tracking shots.

See how there's technically less light in this shot, but it's easier to make out because the shadows are dark and the highlights are bright? Isn't that nice? Why do new movies/shows hate contrast so much? Because the lighting has to be motivated?
