Almost caught off guard when an old show on streaming HASN’T had all of its needledrops replaced with generic stock music

Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy still has my all time favorite "Wish Gone Wrong" Monkey's Paw sequence:

See how there's technically less light in this shot, but it's easier to make out because the shadows are dark and the highlights are bright? Isn't that nice? Why do new movies/shows hate contrast so much? Because the lighting has to be motivated?
