Recent stuff got me thinking about the arm shield in the Secret Level Armored Core episode. They absolutely put the shield on the arm instead of a backpack arm for rule of cool and they were right for it. It could totally work in an AC game, since balance doesn't actually change, but inputs could get funny.

So RIG Riot is basically mecha Risk of Rain that has Armored Core like controls. Main thing I'd hope improve would be menu/ui interaction/usability since it's fairly clunky. If you like AC & Risk of Rain you might like this. Personally not quite my jam but it's interesting.

Armored Core 6 is a mech action game where you are expected to get shot

Do Japanese Ravens know the Ransetsu RF is the most interesting "basic" weapon since it actually has some flashy combo potential with the Slicer. Most say it should be in the right hand to shoot after Slicer, but many don't know it combos with kick+swap. Way cooler this way!

Steel Haze is Fromsoft's most well crafted NPC AC especially in regards to how well it plays with its home game mechanics. Fast, Exceptional Movement, High En Regen, All Rounder Weapon Loadout Damage OST chips are OFF here. STEEL HAZE IS THE PERFECT FORM OF A PROTAG AC

I've talked about this before, but the way Armored Core 6 handles the camera makes strafing pretty annoying on softlock. The AC will change its orientation to match your movement direction if you aren't firing your weapons or in hard lock. You can somewhat mimic old gen style movement where your AC always looks where you are pointing your camera if you hold a back weapon down. The constant shifting does also negatively impact softlock and just feels like punishing the player for taking manual control of something that used to be a fundamental skill. I really wish the next Armored Core would just revert camera behavior to how it's always been in previous AC games (mech ALWAYS looks where you point the camera).
