In the last five years, tur dal imports have risen ~4.5x . Urad dal imports are up ~2x. Edible oil imports now cost India over ₹1.61 lakh crore annually. Raw cotton has also turned net-import positive in recent years, while sugar exports have dropped sharply from peak levels. So we’re okay with a rising food import bill of ₹2 lakh crore+, but can’t stick to E10 citing “import bill concerns”? 😂😂
