Ryan Shorey took his 7-year-old Aaron to their local card shop over Memorial Day weekend and joked on the way there, "Wouldn't it be cool if we saw The Miz?" Misiorowski was right inside when they walked in and offered to sign Aaron's card if they pulled one from a box, as long as he got to pay for it himself. They pulled his card, got it signed on the spot, and Misiorowski even left Aaron with some pitching advice before they walked out. (via Ryan Christopher/FB)

This collector just dropped over $100,000 on pickleball cards 😱 In 2023, most collectors ignored the release of Ben Johns’ rookie card - but one collector saw it as an opportunity. He bought up Johns’ cards for as little as $5, convinced that the rise of pickleball and its greatest player would eventually collide. He told his community to join in, wrote about the cards, and last week launched the PickleVault, a fund seeded with 520 rookie cards, nearly 13% of the supply. The project went viral, raised $122,000 in days, and sent prices soaring. On September 14, a Johns rookie autograph sold for $5,999.
