One of the reasons I hate Lanterns so much is because it skipped so Goddamn much, yet it's written in a way that only makes sense if you know some of the lore to fill the blanks, but it doesn't matter... And again, so much more character development and lore dropped phenomenally in 10 minutes than in almost 2 hours of a damn live action TV show... yet they act like animation is the inferior medium. They skipped Abin-Sur's murder investigation, Sinestro's downfall, the Sinestro corps wars, the war of light, and all just to do some lazy bullshit.

Shitty writing because characters like Green Lanterns are not meant to be grounded... they are cosmic agents that should be dealing with city killing threats or interplanetary armies on the daily... and the writers know this. The Lantern's ring power is more based on time, not like a gun of bullets that gets lower with each shot, 24 hours of full power... thats thr rule. They should've gone with someone like The Question. The Average GL deals with THIS LEVELS OF RING USAGE:

The point of the ring is not to BE FEARLESS... but is to OVERCOME GREAT FEAR... You can still be afraid, it's natural, fear keeps you alive, it's biological... but it's greater when you OVERCOME it to do good and be heroic for the sake of others. Because that's hat a GL should be a hero who puts others above himself. Like looking death in the face and not flinching.

This is what the Average Green Lantern has to deal with on a daily basis, and Killowog was a rookie with barely any training... and he could still take on a small army. Lanterns are space cops, officers of the cosmic law... what they do is an honor and self-sacrifice to protect the innocent in the galaxy from the dangers within it Ala Black Forrest theory. Ego and self-centeredness are not acceptable. These are the ideals a rookie should learn... their lives and past stop being their once they put the uniform... and they do it... Because they are HEROES WHI SHOULD INSPIRE US TO BE BETTER! Not to be like us...

Bending was a martial art affected by one's spiritual understanding and body movements. If they wanted Bolin to be a Lavabender they could've given him a whole arc going into his mothers Fire Nation culture to feel close to them and through training in their movements develop lava Bending after seeing their commonality with the movements from the Red lotus Lava bender. Look into who He was Learn who he was and see the similarities between them (being mixed nations, lost of family) and creating a form of Rivalry/mentorship with him... giving more to a Red lotus member because besides Zaheer, they were all one note and lame. And not only give weight to when Bolin learns to Lavabend, but make it feel earned. Plus, going deep into the shows themes ot the elemental nations being united. You know, do something with the damn characters.

The Guardians have existed for almost 3 billion years, and in those years, they've only had about 4 bad events made by two bad apples of their race at best. Sure, those two almost destroyed the galaxy, but still less. But let's be honest in the DC universe... humans almost destroyed the universe every damn week. They mean well but have been so high on calculated bureaucracy and having people worship their farts that they forgot that they are flawed... that's why Hal joining was a good thing. He didn't know who they weren’t and didn't care, so he was open with them. Which is why Ganthet was the best of them all, because no matter how big and revered the Guardians become, he still remained humble.

Dude, South Park has shat on Islam before, sure they pissed out because they realized that the religion's exteemists are actually batshit crazy and will actually drop into violence first for the smallest thing, bit Hey, at least the tried. If you can't do the fantastical with Spirit and dedication, then don't grab a fantastical character... The Question, Detective Chimp, Dr Occult, plus Angel, are right there, all grounded Detectives.

The more I see of John's folks, the more they feel like if they have a ring and fate, put them in the same place as Rev... they'd run away to save their own asses instead of sacrificing themselves to save the lives on earth because of their EGO! Heck, I can't even see the John we fallow doing the same. He's a nothing burger.

Exactly, it's obvious that the writers are more inclined to Lisa and see all the rest of the family as lovers when, realistically, Bart has bigger chances of success than her. Bart is shown to be able to socialize, think strategically, is charismatic, be a leader of hundreds of others his age and younger, and make profitable businesses on the fly. Not to mention is military prowess he clearly got from Abe. Meanwhile, LISA BARELY HAS FRIENDS AND IS A CLEAR PSYCHOPATH! Hell, Bart is probably smarter than Lisa he's just not driven, I mean he has not only memorized the school's exact coordinates in mind but managed to do the math of distance to hit the target on spot... that's insane.

I have to disagree... The GL are by fundamental nature beat cops, but at a cosmic scale as they are the enforcers of moral law and justice, intergalactic warlords, cosmic sex slavers, genocidal maniacs, galactic drug lords using small planets as farms with slave labor, kryptonian level planet killers who just wanna get off by murdering billions... They deal with them and make sure they are brought to justice while making sure the Dark Forrest theory stays a theory in the sectors under their protection. They are a defacto government law enforcement organization with different levels that go from space cops, to space F.B.I (Honor guard), to C.I.A. (Alpha lanterns). Hell, even Star-Trek has this because it's not naive, there are factions in Star fleet that do all the dark and dirty work so that guys like Kurk and Picard can be moral upright heroes.

Very openly because it actually makes sense. There's build up to it. The 3rd movie gave him his own lab and the fact that he was invited to Starl's funeral says that he's kept in touch and was getting mentored at best by him, so him being Iron Lad or something makes sense.

No, what they meant is that in the original series, Bending felt like a martial art... no elements had the exact same move for the exact same. It had layers of creativity and thought. Meanwhile, LoK only has punching and kicking, no art, no grace, no true moves, it's all lazy.
