(1966) CV Shridhar’s ‘Pyar Kiye Jaa’ featuring Kalpana, Shashi Kapoor, Kishore Kumar. This romcom was a remake of Tamil hit Kadhalikka Neramillai (1964). Mehmood and Om Prakash enact one of the most memorable scenes - a masterclass in comedy. Mehmood is a wannabe filmmaker, with the banner Wah Wah Productions, in the film. In Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Mehmood owns film studio ‘Wah Wah Productions’. Thats why Jagdeep says “bohot purana paapi hai, mere baap ko bhi jhaansa de chuka hai..” ‘Pyar Kiye Jaa was remade in Marathi as ‘Dhum Dhadaka’ (1985) by Mahesh Kothare.
