Remember when Mayor Brandon Johnson welcomed thousands of migrants to Chicago and promoted the city as a welcoming destination? Then came the public health concerns at the Pilsen shelter, where a 5-year-old migrant child died after developing sepsis associated with a Group A strep infection. Since we’ve been in Rochester, MN, it seems like a specific group — mostly African immigrants — have taken over the majority of Uber and Lyft driving jobs. Today, while taking my mother (a Mayo Clinic patient) to her high blood pressure doctor, I requested an Uber to make a stop at Walgreens.
