Secretary of State and now mayoral candidate Alexi “Broadway” Giannoulias was in office when Illinois implemented the law signed by Gov. JB Pritzker allowing undocumented immigrants to obtain standard Illinois driver’s licenses. The law took effect July 1, 2024. Meanwhile, a new Amazon driver didn’t mind jumping out of the window and running after the airbag deployed tonight. Insurance is going to continue to go up, and both Alexi and JB are going to keep buying commercials convincing people why we need four more years of them. Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot 🌈 sold a City of Chicago alley—land that had been acquired through eminent domain—to a couple on Drexel Boulevard 🌈. Today, that alley has been fenced off, cutting off access for residents of Drexel Tower II. As a result, residents are now forced to place their garbage cans in the front of the building, creating conditions they say have contributed to a growing rat infestation. THE DEMOCRATIC MACHINE NEVER SAW CHICAGO FLIPS RED COMING Back in November 11, 2024 Zoe Leigh played back what Mayor Brandon Johnson said following the 2024 presidential election. What happened next was bigger than one election. The Democratic political establishment in Chicago had never been challenged in quite the way Danielle Carter-Walters, Jessica Jackson, and Zoe Leigh challenged it. We started asking questions. TIF money. Tax Increment Financing redirects increases in property-tax revenue within designated districts toward development and other eligible public purposes. The question we kept asking was: Who benefits, how is the money being spent, and who is accountable for it? We questioned potential conflicts of interest involving elected officials who also hold professional real-estate licenses or have interests connected to real estate. A license alone doesn’t establish a conflict—but when public office and private interests intersect, transparency matters. We raised questions about CTU members’ 2018 trip to Venezuela and what it said about the priorities and political relationships surrounding the union. They had a plan. They had the political machine. They had the seats. But they never saw Chicago Flips Red coming. Since we’ve been in Rochester, MN, it seems like a specific group — mostly African immigrants — have taken over the majority of Uber and Lyft driving jobs. Today, while taking my mother (a Mayo Clinic patient) to her high blood pressure doctor, I requested an Uber to make a stop at Walgreens. The driver, named Obang, told me that Uber drivers don’t get paid when passengers add a stop — which I know isn’t true, because riders are charged extra for that. I calmly explained that drivers should unite and challenge that policy if they’re being shortchanged. In response, Obang told me to “shut up” and forced my mother and me out of his vehicle. That is completely unacceptable, especially given that we were simply trying to get to my mother’s medical appointment. Mayo Clinic — this happened while we were trying to access care for my mother. Uber — please look into driver “Obang,” who operates a Mazda CX-5 (MN plates JVY980). President Donald J. Trump U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement — there needs to be accountability and proper vetting. If individuals are here illegally or violating U.S. laws and regulations, that must be addressed. 🚨 CHICAGO FLIPS RED: THIS IS WHY BRANDON JOHNSON HAS TO GO Chicago Flips Red watched Michael Young-Bey, his wife, and his daughter — a Chicago Public Schools student — go to City Hall countless times while their family was HOMELESS, begging their city government for help. They weren’t asking for political favors. They were asking for somewhere to live. We watched Michael stand before city officials again and again explaining that his family was homeless and needed assistance. Mayor Brandon Johnson proudly talks about being a former CPS teacher. Yet a homeless CPS student and her parents were repeatedly showing up at the very City Hall he runs asking for help — and this administration failed to get that family housed. Meanwhile, his administration made the migrant response a major priority, spending millions of taxpayer dollars on shelters, food and other services — including millions connected to 14 Parish’s migrant-meal contract. And what makes this even harder to watch? Black Chicago saw this family asking for help. Pastors saw it. Community leaders saw it. Black men in our communities saw it. And far too many did NOTHING. Now election season is coming, and suddenly everybody wants to organize, hold meetings and talk about protecting political power. I attended “Fighting MAGA & the Far Right: From the Campus to the Streets” at Pilsen Community Books to observe and understand what is being organized under the banner of “defending ourselves.” What I witnessed was not a genuine discussion rooted in accountability or solutions for Americans. It was a coordinated echo chamber designed to manipulate emotion, suppress dissent, and normalize radical ideology. This is a cult structure. The language is intentionally vague, dissent is punished, and anyone who challenges the narrative is framed as immoral or dangerous. That is not activism — it is psychological conditioning.
