Today marks three years since my brother Vladek was last verifiably seen, November 6th 2021 he left Foxtail Coffee shop and walked into the unknown. We continue to try and retrace his steps every day since then. It’s been three years filled with uncertainty, relentless searching, and an unshakable hope that we will find answers. There isn’t a day that goes by where he isn’t in my thoughts, constantly hoping with everything in me that he is okay wherever he might be. Vlad’s absence leaves a space that nothing can fill. I will never stop fighting for him and I will cling to the hope of being able to hug him again one day and remind him how loved he truly is. To everyone who has supported my family through this living nightmare, who has continued to help share his story, and who stands with our family — thank you. Your kindness and encouragement mean more than I could ever express. As each day that passes the search does not get easier yet we do get stronger because of the love and support from each of you. Irena and I put up missing person flyers and shared information about the upcoming Candlelight for Vladek with businesses along University Blvd. We met some incredibly kind people, giving us the opportunity to share our brother’s story as we continue our search for answers. We drove by the apartments where Dad and Vladek had lived, this was home for Vladek until he disappeared and home for my dad until Hurricane Ian flooded the complex in Sep 2022. The complex has sat vacant since the hurricane with unfortunately talk of demolishing everything. The entrance has been gated off since making it impossible to drive back to the apartments, but today they were open, allowing us to step back in time. As we navigated through the thick brush to reach their apartment and the basketball court, it felt as if the complex had been frozen in time. I would give the sun, moon, and stars to be able to turn back the clock, walk through that apartment door and hug my baby brother again. Please take just a brief moment of your time and reshare his flyer. I believe a lead will come but only with the help of compassionate individuals resharing his face on all platforms.
