The Irish, Scottish and Welsh likewise have a sacred connection to the land Ireland was promised by the gods to the Gaels and their descendents. The first ancestors of the Gaels made a contract with the triple goddess of Ireland: Eriu, Banba, Fodla. The same could be said of the British (Welsh) and the Scots, whose origins are related even in the medieval Gaelic accounts. This was the account written and believed by Gaelic Christians and is a euhemerized version of an early myth of being bestowed the rule of the land directly by the gods. Every element of Gaelic and Cymric religion and identity is connected to the land. The land is the living history of the people, whose ancestors have been buried there since 2450 BC.
