Some believe this behavior occurs because many companies prefer to hire undocumented migrants, allowing them to underpay and exploit workers without fear of being reported to the Department of Employment and Labour.

It is not clear how they gained access to her locked banking app, but they managed to steal over R80k in a couple of hours. R40k was transferred to their Capitec-linked cellphone numbers, and then they swiped 3x R13500 at some furniture shop. What's shocking is how they manage to make such big transactions without Capitec flagging them as fraud, as they state on their website. This woman has been saving that money and has never made such transactions before, let alone in the early hours of the morning, so how did the Capitec bank system not detect this unusual behavior in her banking app?
