We then visited nearby Jesse Owens State Park to see the newly constructed Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired cabins. These are just the latest reasons why Ohio has the best state park system in the nation!

Ohio takes all Medicaid fraud allegations seriously and will continue to work with the Trump Administration to proceed with several new fraud, waste, and abuse reforms immediately. Ohio has been a national leader in catching and prosecuting Medicaid fraud thanks to a strong partnership between Ohio Medicaid and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and its Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. Since the beginning of 2023, Ohio has secured 444 Medicaid fraud indictments, 481 convictions, and 146 civil settlements and judgments resulting in $78.4 million in recovered taxpayer funds. Thank you, Vice President JD Vance and DrOzCMS, for your continued collaboration and support to fight fraud, waste, and abuse.

Starting September 30, Ohioans who are 18, 19, and 20 years old must join 16- and 17-year-olds in taking an Ohio-approved driver training course and completing 50 hours of driving practice supervised by a licensed adult to receive a driver license. The new Ohio law will help make the roads safer for drivers of every age and contribute to a stronger economy.

At the Ohio Statehouse today, we remembered the horrors of the Holocaust during the 46th Annual Ohio Governor's Holocaust Commemoration. Tragically, antisemitic acts and speech still continue around the world — proving why we must take time to purposefully reflect on the critical lessons of the Holocaust, so as not to repeat them. We simply cannot tolerate the rising tide of antisemitic rhetoric. All of us must loudly speak out against hatred.

This companion bridge to the Brent Spence Bridge will become an iconic part of the Cincinnati skyline, improving safety and travel between our two states and addressing one of the worst truck bottlenecks in the nation.

Fran and I had a great visit to Marr/Cook Elementary School in Clermont County this morning to celebrate the school’s exceptional work to help their students see their best and read their best. Marr/Cook Elementary School earned the 2026 Governor's Science of Reading Champions Award for their work in literacy, and they participate in the new OhioSEE program, which is bringing crucial vision services directly to the school. ➡️

When I signed Ohio's strengthened distracted driving law in 2023, it was about saving lives — and data shows this law is working! Ohio saw 18,000 fewer crashes and 280 fewer traffic deaths when comparing the two years before enforcement of this law began to the two years after. No text or social media app is worth the risk. By making distracted driving a primary offense and continuing to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving, we are making Ohio's roads safer for drivers, passengers, and families across our state. ➡️
