The new visitor center at the Appalachian Hills Wildlife Area is now open! Fran and I especially enjoyed watching the bison herd there. We then visited nearby Jesse Owens State Park to see the newly constructed Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired cabins. These are just the latest reasons why Ohio has the best state park system in the nation!

Ohio takes all Medicaid fraud allegations seriously and will continue to work with the Trump Administration to proceed with several new fraud, waste, and abuse reforms immediately. Ohio has been a national leader in catching and prosecuting Medicaid fraud thanks to a strong partnership between Ohio Medicaid and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and its Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. Since the beginning of 2023, Ohio has secured 444 Medicaid fraud indictments, 481 convictions, and 146 civil settlements and judgments resulting in $78.4 million in recovered taxpayer funds. Thank you, Vice President JD Vance and Dr. Oz CMS, for your continued collaboration and support to fight fraud, waste, and abuse.

Starting September 30, Ohioans who are 18, 19, and 20 years old must join 16- and 17-year-olds in taking an Ohio-approved driver training course and completing 50 hours of driving practice supervised by a licensed adult to receive a driver license. The new Ohio law will help make the roads safer for drivers of every age and contribute to a stronger economy.

Fran and I are excited that Kroger is celebrating Dolly Parton Day on Friday by supporting Imagination Library of Ohio! This month, Kroger customers can Round Up at the checkout to support their local Feeding America food bank partner as part of Hunger Action Month. And on September 25, for every dollar raised, Kroger will match it with a donation to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio. Thanks to Kroger’s partnership, we can continue making a meaningful impact on children across Ohio.

BIG NEWS: Governor Andy Beshear and I are unveiling the design of the new state-of-the-art bridge that will cross the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. This companion bridge to the Brent Spence Bridge will become an iconic part of the Cincinnati skyline, improving safety and travel between our two states and addressing one of the worst truck bottlenecks in the nation.
