VP JD Vance tells Bishop Robert Barron: The GOP has changed since Reagan. Economic globalization is not an inevitable law. There is a national element to economics. You can trade with other countries, but you have to have some native self-sufficiency. Even Dems agree.

Worth seeing. Joe Rogan Podcast News presses JD Vance: Does Israel have undue influence in US politics? Vance argues that IL's influence on US policy is similar to other countries. The real problem is US politicians who don't put America First. Trump decided to go to war, not Israel.

VP JD Vance explains to Michael Knowles where we stand on Iran: 1) If Iran concretely changes its behavior, we will change how we treat them. 2) If they don't change, we have all our military gains, and we could always take further action. Meanwhile, the oil flows.

Without mincing words, top Israeli righwing journalist עמית סגל tells Dan Senor on Call Me Back: The best thing for Israelis to do is to "Shut the f**k up. That's the best option for the Israelis. Stop attacking Trump. Stop attacking Vance. Let the negotiations fail."

Israeli FM, בצלאל סמוטריץ': We're very grateful. Trump went a long way with us. So I tell my friends, with all due respect to OUR interests, he has a country of 380 mil people to care for. He has midterms, which I also want him to win. So don't show contempt or be ingrates.

On the Commentary Magazine podcast today, prominent Jewish intellectual John Podhoretz criticized JD Vance's comments on the Iran deal. These kinds of attacks are probably bad for the admin and the GOP, but they are certainly harmful to Israel. I don't mean to single out Mr. Podhoretz; he is merely the most intelligent and coherent person to express an ongoing pattern on Twitter these days. >Every couple of weeks the VP will express himself on the Israel issue. >People will read into his comments. >Then get angry about the "implication" or the "implicit meaning," or even, as I heard from someone else, it's what Vance "didn't say" that is "the real problem." >Spend the next two or three days attacking Vance. Now, I don't need to explain to you that this is shadowboxing. Since the outrage is at things that Vance didn't actually say, there's no way to disprove them. In fact, it seems likely that no matter WHAT the VP says, someone will throw a fit and say he's anti-Israel. In reality, Vance only said what every American statesman ought to know: Sometimes Israel and America have diverging interests, just like any other two countries. Nothing nefarious about it. I don't think it's good for the admin or for the GOP's '28 prospects to be having succession battles in the media, nor do Vance and Rubio, who have mostly kept quiet on the issue. From King David we learn that the best leader chooses his own heir. But perhaps lust for power is too strong to keep people from starting the primaries early. If you want to engage in this Republican-on-Republican war, fine, it's a free country. But have you not noticed that neither Benjamin Netanyahu - בנימין נתניהו, nor Danny Danon 🇮🇱 דני דנון, nor Gideon Sa'ar | גדעון סער, nor any other prominent Israeli official has participated in this backbiting? The Israeli media, even at its most hawkish, is almost completely silent on JD Vance. Have you asked yourself why? Because the last thing that Israel needs is to be turned into a cudgel to beat the sitting Vice President of the United States. Such a strategy might be good for certain groups in American politics—that's for them to decide—but it is certainly NOT in the interests of the Jewish State. Particularly since there are enough anti-Zionists in American politics who are very vocal about their opposition to Israel, it is completely bizarre to fixate on the Talmudic interpretation of the "implicit" meanings of the words of one man. Israel is fighting a war in Iran, it doesn't need to be picking fights in the Whitehouse. So, if you want to engage in GOP friendly-fire, please leave Israel out of it.

Yesterday, Tucker Carlson called Secretary of War Pete Hegseth Hegseth "weird" & "culty," suggesting that Hegseth is fighting a "religious war" to "rebuild the 3rd Temple." Today, President Trump clapped back at Tucker, calling him “not MAGA,” not “America First,” and “not smart.”
