Concrete is very tricky. To get the right quality you have to get the proportions right. Cement, sand, granite, and water all have specific roles to play. Too little cement, too much water, or the wrong proportion of sand and granite can significantly reduce the strength and durability of the concrete. And that's before you even consider proper mixing, compaction, and curing, all of which are just as important. This is why every mix ratio and every specification from the structural engineer exists for a reason. Ignore them, and the concrete will eventually expose the mistake.

Some victories deserve to be celebrated loudly, and this is one of them. Today, my wife was called to the largest Bar in Africa, and words can hardly express how proud I am of her. Let me tell you about the incredible woman she is. Her journey wasn't just about law school, it was about resilience. She resumed law school only to discover she was pregnant with our son, an unexpected blessing that wasn't part of our plan. Despite that, she went through lectures and the demands of the programme while carrying our baby. She wrote her final examinations while heavily pregnant, and just a week after returning home, she gave birth to our beautiful son. This is a mercy from Allah, and we are grateful. Today, she has achieved another remarkable milestone by becoming a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She has also begun her service year. In less than a year, she embraced marriage, motherhood, law school, and now national service, with remarkable grace, faith, and determination. Watching her navigate all of these roles has been nothing short of inspiring. I'm incredibly proud of her. If you come across this post, please join me in congratulating her. May Allah bless her career with wisdom, integrity, favour, and lasting impact. This is only the beginning, bi'idhnillah. ❤️

It’s a new week, and many people are considering starting their building projects. One thing I’ve observed is that most project challenges don’t begin during construction, they begin long before the brief is even properly defined. Questions like: Is the budget realistic? Am I truly prepared to start this project? Which professional competence can I rely on to guide me through it? When these are not clearly addressed at the outset, the project becomes much harder to control in terms of cost, time, and quality. Proper planning and early professional input make the entire process more predictable, structured, and efficient. And one key principle to always remember: the best way to save cost in construction is to do it right the first time.
