We are outraged that this person invokes Gandhi & Chaitra Navaratri while threatening to murder City of Bakersfield leaders. The escalation of #antisemitic rhetoric from anti-Israel demonstrations into terroristic threats is a horrific reality that we condemn. It must stop now.

In 1821, Thomas Jefferson wrote that religious liberty in America must protect "the Hindoo" as much as anyone else. This America 250 story might surprise you. The United States was born from the bold idea that we're all created equal, and our founding fathers were thinkers who looked to their furthest horizons in search of the meaning of freedom. Jefferson envisioned a nation where ancient Eastern wisdom and Western ideals could live side by side. Alongside leaders like James Madison and John Adams, they shared a vision of many faiths and traditions living together in a land truly safe and free, drawing on the spiritual depth of humanity. Two and a half centuries later, their vision is all around us. Today, the United States is a tapestry woven from threads from every corner of the world, and Hindus have been part of this nation's story from its earliest days. Happy 250th, America! 🎆 Learn more about Hinduism's roots in American history 👉

Happy Hindu Lunar New Year! Welcome to Kaliyuga 5127 and Vikram Samvat 2083. Did you know not everyone celebrates the New Year on January 1? Hindus, for example, follow over 30 distinct calendars, each tied to seasons, trade, and agriculture. From lunar months guiding planting to solar cycles tracking markets, these calendars were carefully designed to keep life, work, and nature in harmony. The most common lunisolar system begins with Chaitra (March–April), marking the start of spring with festivals of color, renewal, and abundance. Across India, communities celebrate differently: in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, Ugadi features deep cleaning, mango leaf decorations, and chutneys honoring life’s variety; in Maharashtra, Gudi Padwa welcomes prosperity with bright flags; and in Kashmir, ceremonial platters of grains, flowers, and coins symbolize abundance. Long before the Gregorian calendar, these systems offered a rich tapestry of science and spirituality, giving every moment symbolic meaning and guiding both practical life and sacred traditions. Their discussion is a powerful reminder that the stories we teach matter, because every student deserves to see their culture represented with accuracy, dignity, and respect. Tune in now 👉

On April 22, 2025, the worst civilian terror attack in Kashmir since 2008 unfolded in broad daylight. 26 Hindu tourists were singled out and executed by terrorists. The Resistance Front—a Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy backed by Pakistan has taken credit for the horrific attack. But if you look at headlines from major Western media outlets, you wouldn’t even know Hindus were targeted. The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, BBC News (World), Reuters, and The Associated Press - They downplay terrorism. Sanitize it. Hide the victims' religious identities. Call terrorists “militants.” Put “terror attack” in sneer quotes. This isn’t just a tragic story—it’s deliberate erasure. In this powerful breakdown, we expose: The selective language used to obfuscate the truth 👉The history media conveniently forgets 👉 The ideological agenda behind the violence it ignores 👉 How the victims and entire communities are being gaslit in real time Watch this to understand what really happened, why it matters, and how legacy media is failing us once again. This is more than a video. It’s a call to reclaim the truth.

At last week’s HAF year‑end webinar, we laid bare the state of Hindu Americans today. Our wins, the rising visibility of our festivals and identity, and the threats we still face as a community. In this clip, our Managing Director Samir Kalra doesn’t hold back: he calls out the extremist lobby pushing for “Khalistan” in America, not the everyday Sikh community, but that small, loud fringe, and warns how dangerous this narrative has become. He exposes how bills like SB 509 in California could end up painting Hindu and Indian Americans as “foreign agents” or “proxies,” just for standing up. We’re done with the noise and the smear campaigns. We will not stand down to anyone telling us to go home, because we are home. 📌 Watch the full webinar on our YouTube channel and join the conversation.

How did the New York caste bill quietly die this legislative session? And why didn't HAF sound the alarm every step of the way? Because HAF was busy doing the work. Effective advocacy isn't always loud. While public campaigns have their place, reactive social media posts and mass action alerts can sometimes energize opponents or turn legislators into performers rather than partners. HAF chose discernment over spectacle, a strategy that recently helped make New York the sixth state where efforts to add caste as a category in non-discrimination laws have been successfully opposed. That work looked like HAF attorneys developing constitutional arguments, policy experts tracking legislation around the clock, and countless face-to-face meetings with lawmakers and staff. It meant asking difficult questions, publishing op-eds and legal analyses, and building relationships that extend beyond any single bill. The work isn't over. Well-funded efforts continue, which is why HAF's advocacy continues too. Most people don't know this, but for billions of Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and others, the swastika is one of the world's oldest sacred symbols, a sign of well-being, good fortune, and the triumph of light over darkness. On the other hand, for Jews, the twisted Nazi Hakenkreuz evokes one of history's darkest chapters and the unimaginable horrors of the Holocaust. Both truths are real. And understanding one need not erase the other. In this powerful conversation with Shai Davidai, HAF Executive Director Suhag A. Shukla explores a question many people are afraid to ask: How can we honor Jewish memory without erasing Hindu history? The answer isn't censorship. It's education and empathy. It's the recognition that symbols have histories, and that preserving one community's pain should never require erasing another community's traditions. Perhaps understanding begins when we stop assuming there is only room for one story. 🎙️ Watch this clip from Here I am With Shai Davidai

Ok, we are going to be blunt! This entire mess was manufactured by the Sikh Coalition. It was driven by selective outrage, distortion, and deliberate misrepresentation to drum up their agenda and thus rightfully demands a direct response. In this no-holds-barred episode of HAF Reacts, we dismantle the noise and call it what it is. We take on the reckless accusations pushed by Sikh Coalition, SALDEF, and Hindus for Human Rights, accusations that deliberately twisted our words, misrepresented our positions on transnational repression, and pretended satire is violence when it’s inconvenient. No tiptoeing. No appeasement. Just facts, context, and receipts. If you’re committed to truth over theatrics, this episode is required listening. Tune in now👉

Kumbh Mela- The world’s largest peaceful gathering—620 million people, half of the world’s Hindus—and yet, where was the media coverage? When they did talk about it, it was the same tired narratives of chaos, poverty, and superstition. But the Maha Kumbh Mela was something far greater—a testament to faith, unity, and unparalleled organization on a scale the world has never seen. Our Executive Director, Suhag A. Shukla, personally attended this historic event with her parents, HAF staff, and board. What she witnessed firsthand was not what the headlines would have you believe. It was a celebration of devotion, inclusivity, and resilience that shattered every false narrative about Hindu Dharma. The real question is—why isn’t the world talking about it?

Well… that escalated quickly. When President Donald J. Trump casually labeled India a ‘hellhole,’ it didn’t just raise eyebrows, it set off a much bigger conversation about how India and Indians are being talked about on the global stage. HAF was one of the first Hindu American organizations to object to this rhetoric publicly. This week on HAF Reacts, Samir Kalra, Mat McDermott, Raj Rao, and Suhag Shukla unpack that moment, the growing surge in anti-Indian sentiment, and a troubling new blasphemy law in Punjab that has serious implications for free expression. Sometimes you need a good laugh, so thanks to that radical far-left outlet for giving us one! Months of research have exposed that a school for the blind, an old age home in Jammu, a yoga studio in Kuwait, and even American-born and bred HAF are all part of a nefarious, “shadowy” “Hindu far-right” 👻 Who else but the radical leftist rag The Caravan would hire an Australian Felix Pal, using data stored in France to “score” the generosity of Hindu faith-based orgs and paint some freaky conspiracy about hordes of Hindus trying to…we don’t know…do charity? 🤷♂️ So sit back, grab a beverage, and laugh along with HAF’ers as we have fun with this latest Caravan drop!
