It was on this very day in 2003 that my best friend walter williams III and I traveled all the way to Atlanta, Georgia for my American Idol audition ! 20 years, yal! Look at God !! I hopped on that American Idol roller coaster and it has been going ever since ! I’ve lived a lot of life since that day, but I’m still that same girl from the South Side of Chicago trying to get to my goals ! Thank u all for being on this journey with me !

Returning to American Idol this week has brought back so many feelings! It’s been 22 years since I was a finalist and now I’m back as a mentor and guest judge. And on Disney week too!!! It was a Disney song that marked a major turning point in the competition for me so this really is a full circle moment! I cannot wait to watch as these finalists bring us their Disney best.
